CubeSmart Self Storage — Local services in Evanston Township

This was one of the friendliest and cleanest storage facilities I've ever used or visited. The carts were all in good working order and the spaces are new and in good shape. The location is secure, and there is a special loading dock available in the back to pull in a truck, as well as an alternate side entrance, so it was very easy to access in multiple ways. Plus there is ample parking and always enough carts. Loading dock was opened and then locked promptly at business open and close so we always felt secure on the days we were sorting and packing and moving out.

Staff went out of their way to check on us when loading and unloading and even offered to make the dumpster available when we moved out. (Good thing it is locked otherwise to ensure there was space available.) They were patient with us when we needed to spread out a bit to sort out our stuff, and when we had one problem with billing and they worked with us to sort it out.

Make sure you set up closet moth traps (you can buy at Home Depot down the street) in your unit if you have any fabric items. And be aware that if you get a promotional price, that price will be raised after a certain number of months and then again once a year. I highly recommend people not to use the Master lock they are trying to sell you. They can be picked in 2mns. And locked back. You will never know that someone has visited. I am so glad that we decided on this location when moving our furniture to a storage unit. This particular building is very safe with plenty of parking, right next to Dunkin Donuts and Salvation Army. It's always clean and it has carts by the door, so you don't have to carry anything heavy in and out of the unit. Roy has been helpful to us since day one. Recently I got in a bit of a trouble, because the door to our unit wouldn't open due to a fallen box. Roy happened to have a tall ladder handy and he didn't hesitate to help me.
