I want to share my disappointments of shopping from this seller on Amazon Canada website. I bought a Preeti Mixer/Grinder from this seller. We make lots of chutneys, dry spiced powders, and batters for Dosa and Idly. Most of the mixer/grinders from Indian companies are decent and run a long time and since this purchase is a recent one, I can't say for sure how long this will run. But I am confident of it.
I am really pretty easy going and accommodate simple mistakes and never write anything negative about the sellers most of them time. In this case, I am not only furious about their business practices, but I am disappointed with Amazon also that these things are not resolved properly.
I ordered it on Canadian Amazon. It clearly states that it will be shipped from USA. Since I am a prime member, I thought it would be shipped free. But since the seller's shipping is not fulfilled by Amazon, I was charged for shipping. Till that point it is ok. Nowhere, I repeat, NOWHERE did the seller's page on Amazon ever state that there will be conditions applied for returns. Neither did Amazon give the fine print.
I realized that I ordered an item that has 550 watts, and I was looking for 750+ wattage. So, I did not even open the box when the seller shipped it to me. I wanted to return it. And that's where things took ugly turn. The seller is charging me $70 USD and did not even give me free return label. Which means I would be spending another $50+ USD to send it back. That equates to $165 CAD. As crazy as it looks, I paid $239 for the item, and I will end up paying 165$ for sending it back.
I even have screenshots to show that I could not find the relevant information about return shipping charges. If by crazy chance they do have that information, and I may stand correct about that, I Still question the practices of hiding that relevant information which is very useful for an Amazon shopper. Why do you make this important information so hard to find? After all, we are paying the premium of Amazon PRIME for these kinds of shipping complexities.
DISAPPOINTED is the only word that comes to mind when I think of this seller.
I am not crazy to lose $165+ CAD and send the item back. I am going to keep it. But I will probably not go back to this seller for any of my...
Read morePlease be extra careful and Shrewd with this seller. Earlier I purchased two stainless cookers, after delivery it missed the side handles and we totally overlooked it and started using it that stress, heat solely on the main handle broke it badly still I can't hold the other side of large cooker only relying on main handle and another baking glove to hold a cooker. Seriously ?
Cookers are designed to bear weight in combination of main and side handle.!!
To replace the broken main handle, we reordered the new main handle and they did not provide the nuts, screws. Sadly,, the size of nuts & length of screws are very specific to fit in the cooker pocket, handle. Entire purchase of handle is useless and cooker is not usable for almost 2 months waiting to figure this out, I couldn't manage buying food from restuarants this longer. Eventually, I ended up buying a instapot and another Presto from Walmart .
nuts, screws, hacksaw from HomeDepot
Also I tried to use a hacksaw to shorten the screw length however the nuts won't fit in the pocket and keeps rolling along with the screw hence unable to fasten it steadily. Some jugad needs to be done but it is concerning enough given it's a pressure cooker dealing with heat, larger size with no side handled, dropping it could cause severely damage wooden flooring and burn injuries to our feets.
Two high quality butterfly cookers are still unusable due to their negligence and poor service. Claiming to be an Authorized dealer for butterfly is just a sham. Seriously ???
There is a limit to patience and good will.!!
There is no good intent to sell the handles with no screws, nuts if the parts already match a specific cooker types.
Update: Please find attached document where the purchased handle didn't fit the butterfly cooker. Also the handled is not manufactured...
Read moreBought a pressure cooker that due to personal circumstances (broken stove) I was only able to try out after the return window was over. No biggie, I was expecting to use it eventually anyway. To my dismay, the gasket it came with smelled like pure hot car tire and made my chicken and broth smell and taste exactly that. I washed the gasket with dish soap, baking soda, vinegar, boiled it in hot water and left it overnight... no change.
The response I got from their award winning customer service after going back and forth for a few days? "Just keep using it, the smell will go away." Oh, and they also sent me the link to buy another gasket for their faulty product. What if the gasket that I'm being told to BUY from their website also smells like hot rubber? One way to find out, of course: by putting more money into this store's pockets. Eventually they got tired of me trying to reason with them and just stopped responding altogether, and I moved on and got an Instapot. Wish I had done this from the start. They obviously don't care about my dissatisfaction, and dummy me missed the return window. Sucks for me!!!!!
Now a whole month later, the pressure cooker (or rather, this overpriced pot) is collecting dust on my counter, and only now, after this 1 star review, am I getting offered to be sent another gasket for free... if I remove this negative review, of course. At first I was slightly amused, but then I remembered that I spent $70 on a product that I can't even use, and wasted plenty of my time trying to reason with this company, so now I'm appalled.
Perhaps they're better in person since the reviews are mostly good. I personally wouldn't order from here again. Don't order from here unless you are able to try your purchased...
