My partner brought their laptop here Thursday, was told they wouldn't get to it until Tuesday - Wednesday & they would reach out if they opened it up sooner. Next day (Saturday), we discovered that there was NO ISSUE with the laptop, we simply had the wrong charging cord. (It had gotten mixed up with a different laptop cord so the DC power connector was just TOO SMALL (which you can see with the naked eye if you are looking at it). We called them and asked to cancel the repair since they hadn't looked at it anyway, the laptop wasn't broken and no longer needed to be opened up, and we had figured out the issue. They said "Sure, just bring the power cord by tomorrow and then you can take it home". Suddenly Sunday afternoon, we asked if the timing would still work, the man answering the phone was yawning and telling us how hard he's been working and how hard it is with back to school rush, but we can swing by. He suddenly seemed to have an idea though and said, "um actually I think someone looked at your pc yesterday so I'll just have to reach out", mind you this wasn't supposed to be even looked at until Tuesday - Wednesday and "we're so busy, I have 4 pc's in front of you so I'm not sure". I think he realized he would have to refund the $100 deposit if he hadn't touched it yet. Suddenly, he wasn't sure if anyone would be at the shop until later in the day and he would let us know. We get a call an hour or so later and they said yeah come on by! Came by with the correct power cord to show them that there wasn't anything wrong, and the man comes out from the back with my laptop open. Why? Who knows. He proceeded to tell me he didn't know anything about the manufacturer, the processor, etc. He clearly didn't even look at the port with his eyeballs, which yes, I could have done, BUT I AM NOT A PC "EXPERT" so I have an excuse. They proceed to close my laptop, CHARGE ME $100, I got it home and realized there was suddenly a screw missing! THIS LAPTOP HAS NEVER BEEN OPENED AND IT WAS NEVER MISSING A SCREW. I call and ask if the tech is still at the store so I can get my screw, the guy on the phone texted the tech to give him a heads up & let me know I could head back over there. Headed over, the tech suddenly tells me "Oh yeah when I opened it up THIS MORNING (Sunday) I noticed there was a screw missing and put it in the notes here." SO not only did they randomly open my pc VOIDING MY WARRANTY, they also charged me $100 to lose my screw, not know anything about pc's, and to be a shady business.

Read moreThese guys were awesome! We weren't sure if our desktop computer had fatal issues and wanted to get an informed opinion on if the computer was worth keeping or if it needed to be upgraded. Norman Computers offered to look at our computer at no charge and give us the opinion we were looking for! After powering up and looking through settings, Norman Computers gave us some sound advice. They could have sold us many things that we don't actually need just yet, but instead offered suggestions on things we could do for ourselves (such as deleting unused desktop items, where to look to ensure we have the latest Windows updates, and backing up important files) to get a little more life out of our computer until an upgrade is absolutely necessary. Norman Computers spent an hour & a half with us and gave us a lot of options. We felt no pressure and feel they are trustworthy based on the time spent and thoroughness of the analysis of our computer. Chris, Mike, & Mikey all gave sage advice to us on things we can do for ourselves, and said that if we get to a point where we need help, that's where they can step in and provide their expertise. We are planning on trying out the solutions they offered, and if/when we get stuck, we will be using their services. We also gave Chris a much deserved tip for the time he...
Read moreGet your quote in writing! I brought in a 10 year old Dell desktop that wouldn't power on. Initial diagnosis was probably a dead power supply. Estimated cost was $75 for labor and $85 for the part. I was asked for "$100 to get started," which sounded like a deposit. Fair enough, and I paid it. They called the next day and said the power supply was the only issue and it was ready to pick up. On arrival, the bill was $167. I said, "Is that in addition to the $100 I paid yesterday to 'get started.''" Yes, it was. Apparently, the $100 was just for the privilege of their service, but that wasn't made clear. Better yet, I'd say it was misrepresented. I didn't get an itemized receipt, either.
But first, I had to wait 25 minutes between 5:10 and 5:35 to pick up the computer because there was a sign on the door that said, "Back in 10 Minutes." But when the employee got back, he had a six pack in his hand and then immediately locked up after i overpaid.
My advice is to find someplace that doesn't charge a $100 courtesy fee and waits to go on a beer run until after they close.
The computer powers up but I have no other evidence that any of the work was done. I trust it was, but probably paid more than the machine is worth for a minor repair. $267 for a dead power supply (including the $100 "get started"...
