HORRIBLE! I went in looking for a prom dress because one of my father's coworker suggested my mother and I visit Encore since he didn't want to pay full price for a dress I would wear once. I went in and the selection was okay , alot more older style dresses but i managed to find a few. There was a silver dress that caught my eye and i asked the sales clerk what was the size and she replied a 6. I then asked her to get the dress down so i could try it on and she refused. She continued to explain how the dress wouldn't fit me because I had a little bit of hip and how much bigger I was in front of other customers. By no means am I a size 0 but nor am I a 16. I had visited other dress shops and had a general idea of my size ,which was depending on the dress , either a 6 or 8. I was humilated in front of the other customers and didn't even want to try on the dresses I had already selected. I decided that informing the owner of Encore , who happen to be there , of my situation would prevent another girl from experiencing the same thing but I WAS WRONG. The owner basically made excuses for her employee and how previous customers have ruined dresses that didn't fit them . I completely understand their worries but just because one customer does it doesn't mean others should have to deal with their stresses of prom season or other bad customers. The owner NEVER apologized !!! I will never go there again and wouldn't suggust Encore to anyone I know. Very...
Read moreMy daughter graciously took about 5 prom dresses from my house and about 5 bridesmaid/ mother of the bride dresses to try and do something with them other than throw them away or land them at Goodwill. She called ahead and was told they were taking prom dresses now (Feb) but weren’t taking bridesmaids/mother of the bride dresses until March. My daughter thanks whomever she spoke with and on Saturday she and her husband headed to Encore. As they were unloading the car, someone from the store came flying out and stated “we don’t take dresses on Saturday.” Not in a nice way by any means. My daughter stated she had called so the woman (cause I wouldn’t describe her as a “lady) said “well bring Um in we will look at them. She and another clerk proceeded to criticize each one. There is a way to say things and a way not to. These women are retail sales clerks and maybe at this point they have more business than they need but that may not always be the case. A little tack and class was very necessary and very much lacking. My daughter went to a store in Aiken and the dresses were welcomed and graciously accepted and the saleswomen were ladies . It doesn’t pay to be...
Read moreI visited the establishment with my mom and we were both nicely surprised from the time we walked in the door. We were greeted with a big Hello and a smile [which you don't hear a lot at stores these days] the young lady at the front was very helpful and very polite. The clothes are classy, lots a name brands in great/ new condition. Some items are brand new. Great place to shop for every day wear or special accession. Prices are fair, you get good quality items worth the price [still cheaper then at the store]. I'm glad I stopped by and I highly recommend it, especially for young adults looking for proffesional /...
