My 1st experience shopping at World Market in Rockville was disappointing at best & appalling at worse, especially for a 45 minute drive. I purchased a Christmas gift & a candy bar online with in-store pick up. At first I was delighted by all the unique goods at the store when I arrived. But before I was even able to reach the register to pick up my order, an associate started to stalk my every move for a good 15 minutes. Offended by this, I cut my browsing short and headed straight to the check out counter to end the unpleasantry of being profiled. My initial cashier had issues find my order but at this point I realised that I hadn't recieved the pick up email. With that being my fault, I expected that I would have had to drive back down there when the order was ready. So, the associate who profiled me earlier stepped in to look for my order & offered to look for the items in the store. She grabs the candy I ordered & tells me that the gift I ordered isn't in stock. Again, I'm thinking "okay, I'll just have to wait for it to be shipped to the store another day for me to then pick it up". Instead, she processes a receipt for my candy bar then walks away. No information regarding the gift, regarding a refund, or any consideration for me as a customer. So, I go ask her for additional information & she tells me that she canceled the rest of the order. Astonished by the lack of information and service, I left. Don't waste anymore of the time you took to read this by going to this location. They clear don't value the business of paying customers. Read moreTERRIBLE EXPERIENCE! Please I do not recommend going here! Workers are extremely rude and miserable, and customer service is less helpful. I’m sure the workers here are on a power trip, because the last time I was here, the worker gave me a lecture on how to walk up to the checkout and get in line although there was nobody in line and i would have to walk around the whole store to go through checkout. Today, I placed an order for a cream, I waited for half an hour, and then proceeded to ask the worker if my order would be ready, immediately, she got an attitude when asking for my name and ID. She then said “Your name isn’t even on here” with the worst attitude, although i’ve done nothing to her. She then informed me that orders take up to an hour to register in their system, (the website or store did not make that known). I left the store and proceeded to run other errands while they got the order done. After 2 hours, the order was still not ready. Honestly, how long could it take for a cream to be ready? I began to grow frustrated and decided to cancel my order, and had to wait about half an hour on their “customer service” chat to talk to a worker, just to be met with a bot. The system indicated that this store had three pieces, so we drove almost 60 miles to get two of them. When we arrived, we explained the situation to the store manager. Unfortunately, she was not helpful and quite disrespectful. She went to the back room and returned, stating she had only one chair. We pointed out that their system showed three, but she refused to listen or assist us in arranging delivery or checking the nearest store's inventory.
We decided to purchase at least one chair and requested the 20% discount that was officially posted. She claimed the discount only applied to online orders picked up from her store. We placed the order online, but it took an hour to receive our furniture.
I have visited many stores, but I have never encountered a manager who seemed to dislike her job or was naturally rude.
