Extremely poor customer service. I brought my bike in for what seems like a relatively simple repair. The guy helping me talked so quietly I could barely understand a word he said. No amount of asking him to repeat himself clued him in to the fact that he needed to talk louder. On top of that, it was a struggle just to pull the information out of him I needed, such as how long it would take or how much it might cost. Eventually we got it worked out, and I left.
A week goes by and I have yet to get a call from Ernie's with an exact estimate of what it will cost or details of what exactly needs to be done. Therefore I call them, and by all indications, they had a very difficult time finding my account. By the time I got back to me, I was none the wiser except I had a better estimate of one week to fix
During that week I went on vacation with my family and forgot all about the bike. Apparently so did Ernie. A month goes by and I are finally realize that I have yet to hear from Ernie's about the bike. (I don't ride much.) come to find out the bike is been done for sometime, but nobody bothered to let me know.
Yet, when I went to pick it up I got a different story. The bike wasn't fixed, because it's unfixable. So they adjusted it. But when I inquired further, that wasn't even the true story. It just turns out they're fixing it would have been more expensive. Perhaps significantly more, but I don't really know because they never bothered to find out.
It would have been nice if they had called me to tell me exactly what needed to be done, and exactly how much it would cost to fix, and then see if I wanted that done, or if adjusting it would be sufficient. But I was given no such option.
All in all, The service I received was unacceptable on all levels. I made my frustration known to them (politely) yet no one really seemed to care. In fact one guy said "I'm not the one that worked in it" as if that should satisfy...

There are multiple bike stores within a 10 mile radius of where I live in Akron but Ernie's tops them all. I purchased a 2016 Trek Matte Black FX 7.3 on 04/01/16. I have had a great experience with Joe, Chris, Tom, Jeff, Chase, Ryan and Doug. They all know their bikes. They have all been great in helping me customize my bike into a commuter bike. I've purchased, and will continue to purchase my bicycles and all my accessories from them. In May 2017 I purchased another bike from Ernie's - a 2017 Trek DS 4. In addition to my bikes, I've bought a helmet, bicycle computer, full fenders, a rear rack, trunk bag, rain jacket, cycling shorts, bike pump, a bicycle bell, winter gloves, shoe covers, base layer clothing etc.... When I go into Ernie's I feel like a kid in a candy store and who doesn't like that feeling?! Go Check Them Out -...
Read moreWhat makes Ernie's such an awesome shop are the personnel who work there. Starting with Joe who worked after closing while I test rode a few bikes. I purchased the Liv 2017 Rove 2. The bike was ordered and ready for pick up in about 10 days.
Since then I have returned to Ernie's numerous times to pick out accessories. The gentlemen (doesn't matter who, they're all great), explained the differences (quite patiently I might add), between the accessories and their functions. They don't attempt to sell you the highest priced item, just what will work for you based on the information you provide and are professionally installed. I received a ten percent discount on all the accessories I bought over several trips back to the shop.
Someone mentioned there aren't many bike shops to choose from locally which makes the excellent service I have and do receive that much...
