June 2023: Food and service have been top-notch lately. And the PIZZA - oh man has it been good lately. I get a pepperoni and feta pizza. If you haven't tried it, don't knock it. See photo, wipe drool off of your chin. November 2022 update: Lately, there has not been enough staff. We regularly wait over an hour for food. Last night? Might have been the worst. And hour and 10 minutes for a side order of tater tots. A SIDE ORDER OF TATER TOTS. When they arrived, they weren't even room temperature. I asked (15 mins later, when we got our server's attention) for fresh tots. Guess what? I got the same tots back after they'd been re-cooked in the oil. Breaking a tater tot open should reveal pillowy diced potatoes. Not a gray oily mess. :( :( Summer 2022: We've been enjoying Sporcle/Stump trivia at The Basement for a few months now. Every menu item that we've tried has been good! It's a b-i-g menu, which is appreciated. When you visit a place every week, it's important to have choices so you don't get tired of the menu. Try the burnt cheese foldovers, whether you're on a keto diet or not! The pizzas are inventive and delicious, and the phillies seem to be their best seller. If you don't like hot pepper relish, be SURE to ask for it to be either not there or on the side. The service is good (and friendly) and there's strong competition for those trivia prizes. Mike O is a great host, you will enjoy his playlist. :) Added a photo. It is strangely pink inside, which makes it hard to read the menu. Why?

Ordered delivery via Uber Eats with a delivery time of roughly 5 minutes after the order was picked up. The food quality was extremely poor. Buffalo chicken nachos was a box of old stale tortilla chips with cubed chicken sprinkled on top; no pico, feta cheese, buffalo sauce, or white queso. Only the dry chicken cubes were edible, just had to throw the chips away. Ultimate Reuben was only slightly better: barely a paper thin layer of sauerkraut in a couple places on the sandwich, no thousand island dressing, and as per the picture just a tiny slice of swiss cheese that didn't cover half the sandwich. The corned beef was dry but, still decent. Avoid this place for food unless you enjoy disappointment.

Back in March, I ordered from Uber Eats. Spent $35. I received my food, and there was a thin metal bar in my fries. As the order was fried food, I didn’t eat any of it. -I called The Basement, who referred me to Uber Eats. -I called Uber Eats who referred me to my bank to dispute it. -I called my bank and filed a dispute which was denied as it was a merchant error, and was referred right back to the restaurant. So I went full circle of nobody taking ownership so I could get my money back. So I’m out $35, but now I know to avoid both The Basement and Uber Eats.

This review will be from a parents perspective with younger teens/ preteens and a toddler.

So, all of the seating (even the booths) are bar style (elevated). This is perfectly fine. The only downside is they do not have booster seats ( a high chair that sits in the booth), they only have high chairs but those high chairs sit substantially below the elevated tables. This isn't a super huge deal but it does make things a tad more cumbersome for those with toddlers (or high chair ridden people).

The service we received (from Sarah M.) was fantastic. She was attentive and prepared. Honestly, if we had a server who was not up to snuff like she was, this review would probably read differently.

The food was good. The kids had pizza which was definitely good for the price (approx. $10). My wife got chicken tenders and loaded fries which were also good. The baby got a cheeseburger and sweet potato fries and that little burger was super juicy. I ordered the classic Philly which I have to say was the second best philly I've ever had and the best cheese steak I've had in our local/ regional area.

The atmosphere. It's a bar and grill. There are TVs and the bar is central to the room. There are a couple of arcade games (cool). I love the selection of music which is a mixture of hardcore, metal, to techno(ish) instrumental type music. For me, I couldn't stop bobbing my head but alas not all people feel the same about that style of music.

Overall, I definitely recommend you at least try the place out. Keep in mind the kind of experience you want to have when you go out. If you desire music and good food, then don't count this place out and don't blame the place if you show up and you don't want those things. For that cheese steak, they can...

We had been coming here for a few years on Wednesdays for the Phillies special even after they increased the price. They are good. Love the fair fries and fresh chips. We always wanted Sarah as our server. Sarah is an awesome server.

We took a break for 2 years and i went only looking at the specials. Today was the pizza special. I remembered the pizza being great before and my wife and I wanted to pizzas. We are very impressed.

Sarah was there and remembered us. Greeted us like old friends. She took our orders and when Bri came in Sarah had Bri take over because Sarah was responsible for the bar until help arrived.

Now Bri was a great addition. Bri had energy and was spot on with everything. Great job Bri.

The restaurant was cleaned up and looked way better than before. I didn't feel as much as before like I was in a dingy basement with a humidifier running. It was cleaner, better lighting, music not too loud that i couldn't talk or hear. I was impressed.

In the past the main reason to go was the food and beer. Burnt cheese and the Phillies were or thing with the fresh cut chips or fries.

After leaving and because of Sarah and Bri, along with the changes. We decided to add this restaurant back into the fold and frequent...
