We used to eat at Eadies a couple of times a month and always enjoyed it. They were usually packed. We moved 500 miles away a year ago, and we're back in town for a few days and we wanted to go back to Eadies. We had 9 people. We arrived just after 6 pm and they were maybe 1/3 full. We were surprised. Three of us ordered clam chowder to start our meal. It took about 30 minutes for our entrees to arrive. No problem. Toni asked if we needed anything, and we informed her we never received our claim chowder. She went to get it, so we started our entrees. The clam chowder arrived and my wife and adult daughter said "try it" and gave me a look. It was Luke warm and had a sour, off taste. About 15 minutes later Toni stopped to check on our meal, and we let her know the chowder was bad. She took the bowls and removed them from our bill. Even the entrees were not as good as we remembered. Something has changed. We don't want our money back, or money off, or coupons or really anything in compensation, we live too far away now. But Eadies has now been removed from our list of places we must visit when we are back visiting family. Nobody in our party was impressed or felt satisfied with their meals. The overall consensus was that it was mediocre. The service from Toni was substandard, and the food just wasn't the same. We have fond memories of Eadies, but we must...
Read more1st off, Quite possibly the best mac and cheese I've ever had at a restaurant. Restaurants tend to cheap out on Mac and cheese because its an expensive dish to make at scale. So it was a pleasant surprise to have some tasty Mac and cheese. Nice size portions. Was slightly disappointed with the walleye but that was more me not understanding how it was going to be prepared as the fish was good flaky and buttery just like walleye is supposed to be. I tried the chowder and it was good as well if a bit expensive at 4.75 for a taster portion which looked to be about a cup. Spent 45 bucks which on the surface seems high for one person (and perhaps it was a bit high) but I subbed Mac and cheese for fries, grabbed the chowder, and had a very substantial side salad (all it needed was a bit of cheese, but maybe they used it all in the Mac and cheese lol which is indeed a fair exchange) also A sweet tea. Oh and the walleye was a special.I left a 15 dollar tip so just shy of 60 bucks for one person. I dont think that is going to be everyone's experience as I saw people getting 2 perch dinners and drinks and getting around that much.. so just like most restaurants best to not make substitutions. Pretty good vibes, reminds me.of a beach front restaurant in Florida...
Read moreThe parking is tight and hard to maneuver. The table seating is crammed, many up against a wall with little wiggle room. The decorum tries to pull off that small town patronsim where past customers left a dollar on the wall with favorable comments about their visit. Being a fish house, we got fish. My wife's salmon was overcooked or cooked too fastly and it was oozing the white liquid, albumin. My Blackened Cod was already separating and was rubbery to chew. The side orders of mac n cheese which was made in house were tiny and watery. Meals are around $20-$24 and for four people, sweet beverages, one specialty appetizer of dill cheese curds ($13.95), an extra side order, two pdq coney dogs (which is was got them famous ), and two draft beers was $140.34. Service was ok. Did have to wait for a long period for drink refills when they weren't that busy. When asked how everything was and how I liked my Blackened seasoned Cod the waitress recommended, I said the fish was rubbery. Her response was if I wanted BUTTER. VERDICT: OVERPRICED FISH SHACK THAT IS SURPASSED BY FISH N CHIPS FASTFOOD PLACES FOR A 1/3...
