I'm giving one stars because if your dog isn't special needs, then the grooming offered here is great and probably just fine for you. If your dog is a rescue with emotional issues find another place. My dog sheds so he doesn't need cut, I just bring him for a washing a nail trimming.

My dog is a rescue from a hoarder who not only hoarded things but also dogs. He was rescued and now has issues with entering buildings, being crated and overall is scared in new places. He is completely non violent and does not snap at people. He is very sweet.

One of the groomers here had recommended crate training him because he doesn't take well to the crate they put him in. I tried to explain the situation but he was adamant that with proper training it could be done. What he doesn't realize is this dog just will not tolerate a crate based on his prior abuse.

The next time, he recommended we must start giving the dog strong sedatives before bringing him in because of his barking, whining and refusal to enter the crate. He even wrote down the drugs he recommended. I was not happy with his approach of recommending strong sedatives so he could be more comfortable over the dog.

I discussed this with my veterinarian. He was appalled by the recommended drugs and also that the groomer even suggested it. He offered to start nail trimming my dog for me. They have been great in doing so to and cater to my dogs apprehension about entering the building. He is a big chicken but they make him comfortable.

I wash him myself now.

I am a loyal customer I come here for a variety of things for all my animals pretty frequently. I'm highly disappointed in LEXI in grooming. I made an appointment for my yorkie 2 days before leaving for vacation (he was coming with me) I dropped him off at the correct time waited 2 hours so I decided to step in and check on everything just to find out she had walked out during the job and nothing was done to my dog at all in the 2 hours. No nail trim no bath (stunk) no hair trim. NOTHING! why didn't petsmart call me sooner to pick up my dog? I walked in to hearing him crying really loud in the back just locked up for how long?? Irresponsible! No one was able to step in and groom not even the manager in that department. I left crying in frustration because he needed that grooming before leaving the state! LEXI had a rude demeanor from the start. Face red and attitude in the air. Picking up my dog, the one ginger kid was trying to tell me i had to pay for the bath and nails when it was not even done?! I definitely was not paying for service that wasn't done and won't be back. Not even for store products when it comes to my dogs reptiles or birds. I will happily travel to another store!! I made an 8 AM appointment online for the grooming salon two weeks ahead. I had never had my dog groomed at PetSmart before. I thought I'd give it a try. The day before the appointment, at 1:30 PM, someone from PetSmart called to ask me my dog's weight. Apparently the groomer I was scheduled with only grooms dogs 40 pounds and under. Well, guess what? My dog is 45 pounds. So I tried to reschedule. Of course, the other groomers were booked all morning. Why did no one check on this before??? I got an emailed reminder from PetSmart two days prior to the appointment. Surely someone could've checked my dog's weight then as well. Or, better yet, I could've been asked right after I made the appointment! I definitely won't be making another appointment there. I'll go where there's better...
