I'd probably give 5 stars if it weren't for their no-coupon policy. A store can make a lot of money off manufacturer's coupons. First of all, when a store mails their coupons to the manufacturer, they are reimbursed for the full value of the coupon, along with 8 cents per coupon for shipping and handling. So they lose no money at all on manufacturer's coupons. Secondly, people who use coupons are often unwilling to make that same purchase without a coupon, and will go somewhere else to use their coupon. So Big Lots is losing a lot of sales with their ignorant coupon policy. Third, I'm not sure if this is legal/allowed, but most manufacturer's coupons good for a free item have a max value which is always (or almost always) significantly higher than Big Lot's price. So Big Lots could potentially make more profit off some coupon purchases than they do off non-coupon purchases. Finally, Big Lot's coupon policy probably angers some customers, who will respond by avoiding Big Lots (even when not using coupons). There are other discount stores to choose from.
The positives about this store are the low prices on certain items and the valuable clearance section. Spices here are cheap... $1 per container, including curry powder, cinnamon, lemon pepper, pepper, chili powder, etc. The containers are as large as or larger than spice containers at other stores. They carry a wide selection of juice and cereal, also at prices that are, in some cases, the lowest available. Make sure you check the clearance section if...

We will never come back to this location and that was my first time coming to a big lots. Sad need to...
ย ย ย Read moreWell, I have to say Big Lots has really stepped up their game. Furniture has improved immensely! Products have improved while staying within an appealing price range. Store cleanliness has steadily improved as well. Granted, you may not find some of your higher end merchandise... but nonetheless, chances are you'll find something comparable.
Growing up, I remember the name Odd Lots. Mom piled us in the car to ruin our Saturday as we idly watched her shop. My o my have the times since changed.
Apparently, Big Lots investors have been thoroughly impressed as well. Their stock has been a sound investment.
I'm excited to see them continue. Hats off to the leaders, as they really made things work to their benefit throughout (and following) the Plandemic....
