I bought a sectional from the North Fort Myers Store that I thought looked good and at a reasonable price in 2015. When I brought the furniture home, one of the pieces seemed to be slanting when we sat on it. I called the store expecting them to give me a replacement, but they took it in saying they would take care of it. About a year later the piece would touch the ground where the defect was before. When I went to the store early this year, they told me they would fix it as long as I presented an invoice to them. I faxed the invoice and a few days later had to follow-up to find out if they received the fax. I was told someone in charge of the repairs would call me. Today, someone by the name of Shawn called and told me they could not fix it because it was no longer under warranty and they did not fix things that were damaged because of abuse.
Price Cutter sold me a piece of defective furniture and fixed it with some form of plaster which turns out to be a long piece of metal attached to the frame. The weakness in the furniture was supported by the piece of metal. Since wood is weaker than metal, the piece of metal is still where they placed it but the wood gave way.
Shawn mocked me while I spoke with him on phone, laughing at me while I talked and repeatedly saying, "Stay positive and encouraged." As a customer, I was not calling for them to give me an uplifting message. I was calling to have my problem resolved with respect. He referred me to Delta Furniture who he said manufacture the furniture.
I once thought this store had great customer service but I was wrong. They will probably give you good service when they need your money. On top of it, he said I bought really cheap furniture. By my standards, it was not cheap and I expected it to last longer than a few months and be without defects. When I asked to speak to the owner of the store, Shawn ended the conversation and later cut the line.
As they say, the sweetness of what looks like low price lasts longer than the bitterness of poor quality. Stay away from the shoddy work in this store if you need to be safe and happy. Claiming a defect in a product was the result of customer abuse, after your poor attempt at fixing it, is being abusive to your customers.
March 2018
I am about to move out of my old apartment into a new home. The furniture is still a pain to me, because it is relatively new and still good for use, but the defect is so bad it needs to be fixed.
I decided to go to the shop and talk with the owners in person, hoping that the problem could be resolved if we could see each other. I found Shawn and reiterated the problem. He was so rude and unprofessional, it was hard for me to believe. He insisted the sectional broke because of abuse. The first time they had fixed it was also because of abuse.
No matter what I said or explained, Shawn would not listen to me. When I asked if he wanted us to have this issue resolved in court, he became so irate, slapped the document I had given him, onto the desk and loudly ordered me out of his store, repeating the conversation was over.
I told him that all I wanted was for the furniture to be fixed as they had given it to me with a defect. Shawn called the Police on me, lied that I was causing a disruption in his store, and yelling at the workers. He was not only being unprofessional, but lying. All this happened in front of my scared seven years old daughter who had come to the store with me.
When the Police came, I explained what had happened and my reason for being there. Shawn asked that they give me a trespass warning and that I never step into that store again.
As at now. I am stuck with a broken sectional, and I can never go to that store (not that I would even want to go there after the way I was treated, insulted, and humiliated), while the other workers watched on without any intervention. Shawn claims he is the owner of the business. I wonder if he and Jeffrey Mike Wilcox, the registered President of the company are one and the same person. They have failed in the area of...
Read moreTheir furniture is very overpriced and they do not allow returns. I ended up buying some furniture and paid twice as much as I would have paid for better quality furniture somewhere else. They have no modern, contemporary furniture. I am very angry that I went to their store. I suggest to anyone to not go there. It is a dumpy store with poor quality furniture. And it is way overpriced. I called them to stop the delivery and get a refund but they refused. Do your research and go to other stores where you can actually get the same furniture for half the price. And where you can return it. It isn’t even delivered yet and they still refused to let me get a refund. I was told the manager would call and he never did. They are unscrupulous and greedy and all they care about is making money for their very overpriced furniture. Don’t go there. You can get furniture that is high quality and reasonably priced somewhere else. Their furniture is very poorly made for the price they make you pay. ...
Read moreWent out to purchase new bedroom furniture for the guest room, so wasn’t looking for anything crazy. Went to big lots and didn’t fall in love with anything. Was about to head to American Freight then we were passing Price Cutters that I’ve passed by every day for the past 6 years. The appearance of the store front has never really made me want to stop but I said screw it, let’s see what’s in there instead of driving over to metro. Walked in, was impressed with the size of the 36,000sqft warehouse and the selection of budget bedroom furniture, couches, and more. The girlfriend immediately loved a white washed wood looking furniture set that we ended up purchasing. We were in the store, loaded up and leaving all in about 20 minutes. Furniture looks really nice in the home and I’m pleased with the purchase. I will consider Price Cutters for future...
