Family came to the Aliante for dinner and a movie. We'd as eaten at other restaurants in the casino but decided to try the Salted Lime for the first time. The service was mediocre at best. The waitress took orders for drinks when we arrived, said chips and salsa were coming, asked about appetizers. We said we needed a few minutes to decide. Waitress didn't come back for our orders for 10-15 minutes. When placing the order I asked if we could split the check, the waitress looked like I'd slapped her and said she'd bring the receipt after dinner and we could tell her then what to split out - thought it bizarre but if that was their process. Our food took over 30 minutes to come out and half of the orders were wrong in some minor way not worth waiting who knew how much longer for a recook and my steak didn't come out at all because they dropped it. It came out several minutes later undercooked, slightly cold in the middle, and obviously with the originally plated rice and beans because they were cold. The food itself was not very good, over salted and nothing special. We were creeping too close to the movie start so I asked if we could get the check. Waitress brings the printed receipt and a pen to mark down what needed to be split out. I eventually rewrote the order on the back of the check split into the separate orders but our waitress never came back. We flagged down one girl who sent another waitress our way. When we started to explain the split check, the waitress said, "oh no, she's going to have to deal with that". If splitting the check was an issue, waitress should've said so when i asked. Movie start time past now, those with cash ended up giving it to those who weren't going to the movie to stay and pay, those that only had cards would sort out repayment later. Found out later it took several more minutes and a few more flagging down other staff for them to get the waitress to come back and settle the check. All of this would be more understandable if they were slammed or understaffed, but there tables weren't full and there plenty of servers and bussers. Not the worst dining experience I've ever had but the overall display of incompetence and the gross food - which wasn't cheap either - is enough to convince me of...
Read moreI live in the area and this place was our go to spot ever since moving here. As of late things have extremely changed.... For the worse. Times before we just shrugged off the the inconsistencies. Let me tell you about our recent experience that changed our outlook. First, chips and salsa are not complimentary anymore (ok we paid for it) they charged $1 for bean dip (which was watered down). They have a menu of listed items that they no long offer (is it too expensive to print updated menus rather than have the waitress go over what's no longer available) which was literally 1/2 the menu! My husband ordered the bacon shrimp appetizer (which the presentation is very different by the way) and noticed there was a white gooey texture that was cheese like after biting into it (we never recalled cheese in the wrap). My husband asked the waitress are these now wrapped with cheese under the bacon & she said no. That immediately made my husband want to vomit. We both could not take another bite after hearing that. The waitress took the dish and spoke to the manager, which all they did was offer a replacement "NO". We paid our bill (minus the bacon wrapped shrimp) and left. We both said as much as we used to come and spend money here before the pandemic we will never return. Sadly, this used to be a cool spot to watch the game and drink at the bar. *Side note if you have to charge for complimentary chip and salsa, you have bigger monetary problems than the money generated from chips &...
Read moreWe tried The Salted Lime for the first time ever last night. For a casino restaurant it was ok. Nothing to write home about. The atmosphere is quite boring. The empty bottles of tequila on each table are pointless and add nothing to the decore. I know you're a Tequila Cantina... but the empty bottles look ridiculous. They start you with chips and salsa... The chips were definitely not made on site... however, the salsa they provided was pretty darn tasty. Good enough that we devoured the store bought chips. Our meals were ok... Again, nothing spectacular. With so many options for Spanish food in Vegas, I wouldn't recommend this place in my top 10... As well, if you're looking for somewhere to have dinner while you are in the Aliante Casino... there are better options. Don't get me wrong... the food was ok, but just ok. The rice lacked Spanish flair and flavour. The refried beans were so flavorless and mushy I didn't even eat them. I guess, check it out if you're in the casino and want Mexican food... It's not bad, but you won't be going home telling all your...
