This review is not accurate Yelp has a 3.4 out of 5 and I wish I would have seen this before taking googles reviews to make a decision of of. I am very disappointed in the service that I received at Harbor Nails. I researched all night a place close with the best ratings and came up with Harbor Nails which was a joke. I would give it zero stars if it was up to me I’ve been getting my nails done for years and I have certain numbers that I know specifically goes to each nail so that they don’t pop off. When I told them which nails that I wanted on there, the guy proceeded to put on there what he wanted to put on there and so when I called him out and chose the tips that I wanted to put on there, A new individual came over and proceeded to work with me to pick the nails that i asked for. Please I want you to keep in mind normally I can be very rude but in this situation, I was very gentle and patient because I understand the hesitancy that nail technicians have because I have seen it before. When another technician came and was asking specifically what I was asking for after a moment of them speaking whatever language it is that they were speaking back back-and-forth. I was told that they would not be able to do my nails because they didn’t think that they would turn out the way that I wanted, which was a beautiful design. So, I proceeded to say “ OK well, I’ll just get them done regularly and they still denied me of getting my nails done.” It’s very sad that I knew exactly what I want they literally asked me to leave. I traveled over 25 minutes in a uber paying over $25 to get to this nail salon from Fontainebleau Hotel. I should be able to get what I asked for, when I have The technicians in the past due the nails the way I have had them done for years, the technician always say oh “wow these are beautiful”, not understanding that my nail beds look wide, but they’re really narrow. I actually decided to wait till I get home and do my own nails. But a technician share with me once a few ways that the nail technicians get you to come back in there.
If the nail is too big for you nail bed and set slightly on your skin, you will be back for a repair, 2. if they put a small dot of nail glue in your nails when you are putting on your tips you will be back for a repair If they don’t cut your cuticles you will be back for a repair. If they don’t take a small dot of glue and seal the inside you will be back for repair.
All of these things if you make sure you ask for smaller nails if they fit over your skin on the side, more nail glue, cut cuticles, and ask for a small amount of glue inside you nail to seal between nail and finger to fill the space that has no glue to fill the air pockets. Then your nails will last weeks on in, guaranteed, because it stops water and the moisture from getting in and lifting them up. The way these technicians are doing nails are a scam because as soon as I asked for my cuticles to be cut for smaller nail cause I like narrow nails. They knew I wouldn’t be back.
I challenge you when you go back for a new set early or repair you follow these directions and see how well your nails stay on. If they won’t do it or they don’t fall off and they last. Move to a more welcoming place that allows customers to have control of their own request and body.
When you leave and they take your $50 dollars+ and smile at you after leaving a tip knowing as soon as you hit something accidentally you will be missing a nail and they will be charging you for a repair is sickening you should have them the way you prefer. It cost too much to get your nails done, especially for single mothers that struggle and this is the only means of self care. You are the paying customer.
Keep in mind that not nail salons are like this one but don’t waste your hard earned money here. keep searching for the next nail salon and read...
Read moreI’d like to preface this by say I don’t typically write reviews but this place has added insult to injury.
I called ahead for my friend and I to get our nails done. My friend was just getting an acrylic fill with gel and I was getting dip powder gel with tips, coffin shaped. We were told it would take 50 minutes to complete (I only had an hour to spare before my flight so this was great! Or so I thought.) The service took an hour and a half almost causing me to miss my flight.
This was the second time I got the dip powder service. The first (in nyc) didn’t take as long and came out spectacular. I was complimented on it and asked if they were my real nails. So I know what they should look like. These nails came out fat and bulky and the only reason they aren’t even fatter is because i stopped her from adding 4 layers of powder. They are also shaped weird and have streaks. They’re cut off prematurely on the sides and without color. She didn’t even bother to remove the color from my skin. The woman had the nerve to say that I was picky and this is how they should look. I was finally able to talk them down from $40 (which is the price quoted over the phone) to $20 after being yelled at by the woman.
My friend’s nails on the other hand came out amazing! They were perfectly shaped and the color was great. Until one broke 24 hours later. Of course, these things happen so she went back to get it fixed. They promptly and rudely told her she had to pay to fix them.
Now for the truly infuriating part! My friend just called me to talk about my nails so I randomly checked my CC statement which showed them charging me $45 instead of the agreed upon $20. Not only will they have your nails looking like trash, but they will also amend your payment and charge you more!
The service here is abysmal and there’s literally zero customer service. Avoid this place...
Read moreToday, I walked in and instantly I was greeted. I asked to look at the menu of service and the prices are affordable. I just went in to have my acrylics removed(soak off) I waited less than five minutes and a person started to work on my nails. They always kept someone coming to check on me regardless if it wasn’t the first person and what I really disliked and found it very unprofessional, unsanitary and lack of care towards my nails once it was in a bowl of acetone was the technician tossed the tip of the nail filling machine into the acetone to disinfect while my nails was soaking off. She was in a medical scrubs. As I work in the medical field with nail specialist this is extremely against all regulations. There was a Hispanic blonde lady when asked to jump in, refused to listen to the one in charged. She sat down on the pedicure chair and played on her phone. He had to get up and tell her. She had a very poor attitude and didn’t even look at my face but Just started to work on my nails. I’m really happy another one came in and took care of me right when she finished with her client. She was wearing a pink shirt and young lady. She was kind, patient and knew how do her job. She was confused why the filling tip was in the acetone. She removed it and continue to work. This was my first experience at...
