Ah, the glory days of the old-school arcade, back when I was a younger, spryer version of myself. A time when 25 cents got you more than a withering glance from a cashierâit got you an epic adventure! Contra, Super Mario, Frogger, Donkey Kong, Double Dragonâpure classics that ate my quarters as fast as they fed my soul.
I loved it. The kids loved it. Even the machines probably loved it. The wife? Not so much. She said the place smelled like a sweaty sock convention and needed a power wash. But I was too busy dodging barrels and smashing buttons to care. Priorities, right?
