Let me first say that when making a solid purchase with them they were kind. We purchased a very nice coffee table off the floor in summer of 2024 and all was well. It is excellent quality and we love it. I was, recently, interested in some outdoor chairs and I called and inquired about them and the lady said she had two left in each color. I asked if she could hold them until morning because we were traveling in the opposite direction. She said I needed a credit card to hold them. I called back and then had to call back again because my husband was driving and couldn’t get to it. I called and she took my card info and I got a receipt for the full amount via text. Meanwhile something came up and we decided not to proceed with the purchase. I called back within a couple of hours to see if I could cancel. The lady said she would have Houston take care of it when he returned. He then left me a voicemail saying I would be charged 3% each way for using a credit card. When I questioned this policy, I was spoken to rudely with a loud tone and he even stated that I had called multiple times that day as if I was an inconvenience. I was given a refund, but was charged $78 for initial purchase fee and refund processing. I was given two explanations: one being it’s 3% each way for credit card fees that he endures and the other being he could’ve lost a sale had someone come looking for the chairs in the short time that transpired. He also told me, among other things, that no business would hold something for 24 hours for no fee. I’m a huge shopper and I’ve had many places hold stuff for me for a short period of time with no fees or consequences. As the owner of a business, I would’ve expected him to act in a much more professional manner. It is not about the 78$ …. it’s the principle of the matter. I, unfortunately, had to call one last time and inconvenience them because I noticed the girl had taken my email down wrong. I do take some responsibility for not asking more questions about what store policies were regarding canceling and whatever other gaps there were in communication. I wish the business well but will no longer consider...
Read moreI had an amazing experience at Lowders Furniture and Mattress! The owners, Katie and Houston Lowder took the time to make sure I found exactly what I needed. Their selection was amongst the best I’ve seen, and their prices were very reasonably considering the quality of their products.
They made the process seamless and stress free, which isn’t always the case at the larger big box stores. They made taking delivery of my new mattress fast and affordable.
It’s clear that they both care about their customers and take pride in what they do, which is rare to find these days.
I love supporting local small business, and the Lowders have definitely earned my loyalty! Without a doubt I will be back for all of my furniture needs.
If you’re in the market for a new mattress or furniture, I promise Lowders Furniture has you covered! 5 stars...
Read moreWe live in Raleigh and own a rental property in North Topsail Beach and wanted a new King mattress and a recliner for our guests. Our rental company (Coastline Realty) recommended Lowder’s Furniture & Mattress Company in Sneads Ferry. We meet Heather and she was extremely helpful and took time to find just the right pieces that we needed. She notified us the furniture was in and she held them till we come be at the house with no renters.
She set up the delivery and the two young men removed the old and brought in the new and set everything in place.
We are extremely pleased with how everything worked out and would highly recommend Lowder’s.
