I had a death in the family I found out about last minute. The funeral was going to be Sunday afternoon. It was late Friday afternoon and I was in a panic trying to find a florist last minute. I am working 12 hours in a steel mill and would be unable to attend the Funeral, but wanted to send my condolences in a big way instead by purchasing and sending a big expensive floral arrangement. I called a couple florists in the Schererville/Merrilville area close to where the funeral home was. They had nice websites and I picked out a few arrangements, but when I called to order and pay, I was told they could not do what was on their website in such short notice and needed a couple more days to order in some of the flowers featured on their arrangements website picture. They tried to talk me into buying a less expensive, smaller more basic arrangement or plant that they did have in stock. I said no thanks and decided to keep calling. I next found Willow Blooms awesome website on Google, found a arrangement I liked, and called them and got lucky to talk to the owner by chance. Not only was she EXTREMELY pleasant and sympathetic to talk to, she never once said they could not accommodate my short time frame or big expensive funeral arrangement, she even said I did not need a even more expensive arrangement they had. I was now sold with her honesty. I asked to change a few things and send me a pic when they finished. She told since they were closing in 15 min, she would make it Saturday then text me for final approval. . Let me just say it blew away my expectations and was beautiful and now exactly what I wanted and had in mind. Willow Blooms then got my flowers to the funeral home with time to spare that day. I am so happy they went above and beyond in such a short window. I will be calling Willow Blooms from now on for all my floral needs. Thank You again to this awesome business. You will be happy to do business with them too. Check out their gorgeous pics...
Read moreI ordered my wedding flowers from here because of some good recommendations from family friends. My wedding color was navy with light pink accents and I really wanted to use peonies as my main centerpiece flower (they were in season too). I ordered light pink peony bouquets for the bridesmaids and light pink ranunculus for the boutonnieres. I also ordered two peony/ranunculus arrangements for the church.
At the time it seemed like he understood what I wanted but on the day of the wedding it was a different story. The bridesmaids bouquets were white instead of light pink and the boutonnieres were bright orange/deep red instead of light pink!! The arrangements had numerous tasteless flowers thrown in there as well and looked like funeral arrangements. The entire color theme of my wedding was thrown off! I called Brumms immediately and got numerous excuses about why everything was the wrong color. They knew about the problem the week of the wedding and did not call me to see if we could change things up before the wedding day. They ended up bringing new boutonnieres an hour before the ceremony started (after pictures) that were light pink lilies, which at least went with my color scheme. After the wedding, I had numerous phone calls with Brumms and got nothing but excuses. They did not take any responsibility themselves and instead blamed the wholesalers and myself for the flower choice. I did not receive any cash back.
I would NOT recommend Brumms to anyone with your wedding flowers! They threw off the color scheme of my wedding and I was so disappointed on my wedding day. All of my pictures have the wrong color flowers in it. It is worth it to pay a little bit more some place else to get...
Read moreI recently had surgery and was sent flowers from two different florists, one being Bloomin' Barn. Prior to receiving them, I had followed Bloomin' Barn on social media and was impressed by their arrangements. But when I received my arrangement, I was anything but. First, when they were delivered, they weren't in any box or bag/wrapping to stabilize the flowers. The arrangement was also left in the middle of the door which made it difficult to open the door to get them. The bouquet looked sparse and the flowers weren't of the best quality. They died within a week and I was surprised to see that the vase was from the Dollar Tree (see pic with Dollar Tree label that was patially left on)!
I'm adding to my review in response to the owner's reply. Although I didn't contact him directly about the arrangement issues, the sender did contact him several times after i received the arrangement; therefore, my review was not the first time he heard of the issues. I didn't mention that because it was a whole debacle between the online order placed versus the arrangement received. My honest review was about the poor quality of the arrangement and vase. The bouquet I received from another florist lasted longer than the week the owner said was the norm (I guess i do know how to take care of flowers). I even tried to compliment the shop with the beautiful arrangements they post on social media. Unfortunately, the arrangement I received didn't match the quality seen...
