Straight up, they add B.S. charges so they can make extra money. This is not Verizon that is adding these charges it specifically this franchise of authorized dealers.
About two months ago, my brother and I went to the Verizon store in North Royalton and we signed up for a business account and we have one iPhone 16 Pro Max 256 GB the tax on that came out to be 90 something dollars.
Today I went with my sister to sign up with her for her business since we are all switching from AT&T to Verizon. I have already switched and the total came out to be 120 something dollars that did not make sense to me and he said that was a set up and go service fee of $39.99 and there was no way to waive it, it’s a system generated fee and is charged at all stores.
That is completely untrue when I came home. I checked my receipt and I was not charged that on my brother’s account. I called Verizon and they also said this is not a charge by Verizon but that specific store.
I would steer clear of this store. I would honestly do your research and confirm what stores are CORPORATE owned (Rockside Road Verizon IS) and just stick to those stores, as you know the experience will be the best.

We went back to the store and was told to unplug the router and plug back in. I told them that my phone was connected to the wi-fi. We tried this and the phone did find the wi-fi but said that it was not in range. I was in the room with the router! We went back to the store to return the phone. They made no attempt to offer her a new phone or a different phone. Instead, they charged her a $35.00 restocking fee plus an additional $15.00. My mom paid cash for the phone and they had her put $10.00 on her Discover card. They then credited her $18.00 on her card and did not give her cash back. DO NOT SHOP AT THIS STORE!!
