Got check out quickly but my friend from work was behind me in line (also my ride). They had exactly 8 people in line and for some reason the lady who helped me out closed her register and started putting hangers away. So my boyfriend and i had to awkwardly stand by the front waiting for her to check out my coworker so we could leave. The other lady at the register was having issues and had to call a coworker over to help. Suddenly there were THREE workers putting away hangers, not a single one cared that there was a line, and ill be honest i didnt move out of their way in hopes they would get the hint that i was waiting for the guy wearing the same uniform as me. But they didnt care. They finally asked if i could move and so i said "as soon as my coworker can get checked out we can leave" im not even joking- this lady huffed at me and then INSTEAD OF GETTING ON THE REGISTER SHE CALLED SOMEONE OVER THE INTERCOM TO OPEN A REGISTER. And then she proceeded to put away hangers. Finally the lady on the only open register calls for help over the intercom too because its been at least 10 minutes and the worker that i assume was going to take over and open another register went to go help her instead. The entire line of people visibly started getting mad and finally a brave man yelled out from line for someone to open another damn register. Finally the lazy old lady from earlier huffed again and finally opened the register. I thought i was never going to be able to leave and i almost started to accept my new home. So glad we finally left that store. Hope no one is still caught there to this day. Praying for...

You're treated like a criminal from the moment you walk in.
There's "security" guards walking around in vests but they're not there for security rather solely loss prevention. They spend all their money employing a ridiculous amount of these people and not enough cashiers.
Then you wait in this god awful line where they don't have air conditioners or a sense of temperature regulation. The line was 52 people deep, 2 cashiers, and 3 prison guards, I mean securityguards. .
They then FORCE you to show receipt upon exit on camera.
I asked if I was suspected of theft as it's my understanding that in Colorado you can only legally ask for a receipt if you suspect theft or are a membership club. Considering they asked everyone and made sure it's on their vest cams I assume I was not in fact suspected of theft. He reached in my bag grabbed my receipt and replied "it's for the video" then put it back.
The over exaggerated presence of "sercurity" in their vests made me feel less safe. Them following every single human who enters the store to capture them on their vest cameras is nasty. Truly have never felt more like a criminal while doing absolutely nothing other than trying to buy a damn outfit for a FUNERAL. Than you for making today suck even more.
I will not return and I will ensure everyone I know stays away.
The prices at DD's Discount next store were better. The store is cleaner not a hot mess and you're treated like a customer...
ย ย ย Read moreHere to share my experience with the manager Angie. I will preface by saying that I shop at Ross a lot. I have been scanning my receipts into my phone for years so that I do not lose them, and never once have I been denied the ability to use the scan (on my phone) to return my items. Employees have either scanned the barcode directly from my phone, in the exact same way as they can the paper copy of the receipt, or they can type in the numbers by hand to look the receipt up.
I went into this particular store to do some shopping and returns (within the 30 day window, with proof of purchase, along with the same credit card that was used) and Angie flat out refused to do my return, making a scene in front of a line of customers. She had a very unprofessional demeanor and attitude and honestly it was not what I would imagine you would want as a representation of your store.
Again, I have done this dozens of times at other Ross stores and all the other employees were more than happy to help me, and to simply scan the receipt (again, I had the same credit card that was used for the transaction on me).
It seemed to me that she was having a bad day and taking it out on me for no reason. Why make things harder for a customer who has proof of payment and if looking to spend more money in your store? With the economy where it is, I would advise that you make things easier for the customers that are regulars and spending money in...
