Well it was the worst Customer service we have ever received, my husband and myself went in looking for a desk and we had a few questions that were answered after almost 1 hour or longer waiting for Paul to answer a few questions as some other customers walked in after us but Paul knew the other customers and sat talking nearly an hour knowing we were waiting to ask a few questions. Paul did let us know that he was not a sales associate and asked us if we were greeted by a sales person? I had let him know briefly. My husband and I finely was approached by a male sales person whom seemed to care and that is when Julie Nelson finally came and asked how she could help and she didn't seem happy that she had to take time to try and answer our questions Julie mead is feel rushed and as if we were wasting her time!! I ended up looking at a desk and after looking at this desk for nearly an hour going over every dent and scratch (as we we waiting for Paul ) we had finally picked out a desk chair, desk , rug and recliner chair . Finally Paul finish chit chatting with the other customers as he was approached numerous times by other workers waiting to get our questions answered we were just about to walk out , my husband and I decided to purchase what we picked out . Upon delivery we noticed that the desk that was shipped to us was broken and I placed a call to Woodley's to let them know desk was broken, I was told they would put a work order in and we hung up then I started looking at the desk more carefully and noticed that this desk was NOT the desk we had purchased at all , ( as I stated earlier in my review we had time to look over the desk for nearly an hour and went over every scratch and dent as we were being Ignored). So my husband and I went back to Woodley's and in fact seeing the desk that we were going to purchase sitting right where it was, I expressed to Julie that I was upset and wanted to return the desk and the desk chair, Julie was rude and snooty and said well the desk chair is tan and tan goes with everything, I said no I don't want it !! I told her again I wasn't happy about receiving the desk and Julie replies with a question in a smug way "we'll do you want to return everything"? I then looked at her and said we just might! At this point I ask to talk with a manager and Julie rolls her eyes, when the manager comes Julie tell him that"she claims we sent her a different desk" I said no it's not a claim it's a fact as we knew the scratches on the desk we picked out and I told the manager how Julie was acting with us and I felt as he really didn't give a hoot . Nevertheless we were treated horribly and now I have a Woodley's credit card and don't even want it now . This was a sad experience and I think this needs to be known so others are not treated in this manner. Julie should NOT be in customer service in my opinion or maybe it was just our race not sure but I never want to experience this kind of service again! This claim can be backed up on video as my husband and I were in on 2/16/19 . I hope corporate is able to review and terminate Julie from her position. Hope this...
Read moreFirst, they claim they use hardwood but do not. After spending 7K on a bookcase I found out that most pieces of wood are plywood, and the hardwood veneer is so thin that a slight scratch goes through to the next layer. I really feel duped - I was expecting actual hardwood, not cheap plywood.
There were also many more issues - tons of scratches and a few large dings, holes drilled where they weren't supposed to be, doors mismatched and put on right side up/upside down which I don't even know how it passed visual inspection, large warps, finishing nails put in at 45 degree angles and busted through wood, and two problems with the plywood. They are working with me and are supposedly going to get a new set with no issues, but so far I have had my office torn apart for 1.5 months and now have to wait for a rebuild and then tear it all apart again. This is not what I would expect from a high-end, American manufacturer.
I can't believe this stuff isn't 1) cheaper since they aren't actually using hardwood unless there's an edge and 2) they don't have modern options like soft...
Read moreVery disappointing experience. We ordered a couch, waited almost 3 months for it to arrive, only to find out it was incorrect.....the factory made the cushions wrong, AND the salesmen got cushion trim incorrect. They offered a discount, but we really wanted the couch we had waited for, so asked them to re-order. A few days later, we were told the material was discontinued. So, either take it as-is, incorrect, with a discount, or cancel and get our 50% deposit refunded. We decided to grudgingly accept it as-is. We also had shown up with our Uhaul when they told us it was in as we were moving to another state. They would not help in that area either, so had to pay to have it shipped to the new home! All around very bad experience from these folks. Update: Finally in our new home, unwrapped the new sofa, only to find extensive damage....chipped scratched legs, torn material, scratched and torn leather, brokenbent metal straps on the bottom, trim leather torn away at bottom....likely as much the fault of XPO Logistics as Woodleys/King Hickory, but still, we are the ones...
