Alexander's Custom Clothiers — Local services in Northville

The message I got after leaving this place: we don't want your business. After I walked in, met a very nice hostess. She said she'd find Mike, who wasn't around. So I waited for alex to get off the phone...no more than two minutes. No big deal. I told Alex I wanted three things:

1. To get fitted for a tux. (I'll be in a distant wedding and was told NOT to get fitted at a big box store)
2. To get new dress shoes, the ones I wear to my white collar job are worn and I wanted a good brand.
3. To get a price estimate for a business suit since mine no longer fits. First thing Alex says: Well, we might have to send you to a big box store!
4. They wouldn't fit/ measure me.
5. They didn't carry shoes without leather soles...so none for my daily job.
6. (this one he did well on) He informed me that a suit would cost roughly $1,500.

Alexander and his staff treated me like a family member when I had never been in the store before and am probably towards the bottom of their price range. Between Alexander's suits and something you get made at a discount suit store is a remarkable difference in how the suit fits, feels and looks. Part of this is obviously from superior materials and manufacturers, but just as much is the far greater number of measurements and mirror tests done at Alexanders compared to at the discount store. As I have somewhat unusual dimensions, the difference I felt and saw upon trying on the suit he had made for me was amazing, and I can see how the time and effort he puts in up front pays off in the finished product. I can’t believe it’s taken me this long to write a review for Alex and his team. With that said, the level of service, quality and attention to detail provided by Alex and team is second to none. I’ve worked with other “clothiers” in the past and after working with Alex and Mike; I’m frustrated that I didn’t start working with them sooner.

They treat customers like family, provide feedback and overcome obstacles together in order to develop exactly what the client is looking for.
