I recently had the pleasure of visiting a new spot in town called "The Sports Den," and I must say, it has redefined what I consider a true sports bar experience. From the moment I walked in, I was enveloped by an atmosphere that any sports enthusiast would dream of—a haven filled with the energy and excitement that only comes from being surrounded by passionate fans.
The first thing that struck me was the sheer number of TVs. It felt like there were a million screens, each displaying a different sport from every corner of the globe. Whether you're into football, basketball, soccer, or something more niche, The Sports Den has you covered. The place is set up so that no matter where you sit, you have a perfect view of the action. It’s the kind of place where you can catch your favorite team’s game and still keep an eye on other matches that pique your interest.
Now, let’s talk about the food. I decided to try the ribeye steak, and it was nothing short of perfection. I asked for it to be cooked to my preference, and they delivered exactly what I wanted. The steak was tender, juicy, and seasoned just right—every bite was a reminder of why I love a good steak. The server mentioned that it was prepared by a cook named Aidan, and I have to give credit where credit is due. Aidan clearly knows his way around the kitchen, and his skill in preparing a steak just the way I like it was impressive.
But beyond the great food and endless sports, what really stood out to me was the overall experience. The atmosphere was welcoming, the staff was attentive, and you could tell that everyone there was having a good time. It felt like a community, where strangers could become friends over a shared love for sports and good food.
The Sports Den isn’t just a place to eat or watch a game—it’s a place to unwind, connect, and enjoy the simple pleasures of life. I can see myself coming back here time and time again, not just for the games or the beer, but for the feeling of being in a place that truly understands what it means to be a sports bar. If you’re looking for a spot where you can feel at home while enjoying great food and your favorite sports, I can’t recommend The Sports Den enough. It’s more than just a sports bar—it’s...
Read moreSeveral years ago, this was one of my favorite sports bar in the area. Well, let’s face it, the options are limited in Northville and Novi. But, great downtown location. Lots of TV’s. Big bar and you could typically grab a stool anytime except during really popular sporting events or prime time Friday/Saturday. As far as food, the pizza is really good and so are the wings. The sliders were good, just kinda pricey – I think $15 for 3 small sliders. I felt their raved-up tacos were bland and few sauces available to spice them up. I had a few entrees that were below average. The domestic drafts were priced decent for Northville. Also, the bartenders were friendly, attentive and as accommodating. Morgan and Alana were great. Lastly, they are open late - not too common for the area.
I stopped going for 2 reasons: (1.) Prices increased overall and for example, domestic pints increased by $1 and in general seeing typical Northville inflated prices (2.) I found that many specials or promotions always “fine print” or some unknown restrictions. Pizza is ½ off on Thursday’s but dine in only. That was not clear; but really did not have to be because previously the bartenders simply allowed you to get a ½ pizza to go if you were spending money drinking – and tipping. Well, of course a new bartender was hired. I ordered a to go pizza, drank 2-3 beers and the bill came. Not 1/2 off. I asked. She explained. I explained my past experience. She would not budge. Also, on the bill – a 20 or 22 oz domestic Miller Lite was now $7.50.
Another promo was the $2.50 Lions Game Day Miller Lite Pints. After a few weeks, that turned into $2.50 only during the game time itself (the promo sign says “Game Day” and not “During the game”. And, a few weeks later, they were "out" of Miller Lite conveniently during game time - but, the gigantic sign promoting it remained. So, I ordered a Guiness. I had 2. Two 16oz (not 20oz) Guinness was $18. $9 bucks for a 16oz Guinness and not even a decent pour...
Read moreBeen a server many years, I am always one to lay off on not-so-stellar service, but this was absolutely awful. My fiancé and I came in on Friday for a coworkers birthday party, we got there at 10:00. Place was not by any means packed or busy, and we hadn’t seen a server. The birthday girl let the server know and she said she’d be right over. She came by, filled drinks but walked right past us, couldn’t get her attention. So we waited, by this time it’s 10:45 and the server hadn’t come back around and we still hadn’t been served. After another grab from the birthday girl who managed to find her she came over. We ordered 2 drinks. She immediately came back and said they were out. Ok, no problem, another 2 drinks ordered. Rinse and repeat cycle 1 one more time, she couldn’t tell us for some reason what they weren’t out of, but mentioned she had 1 similar to what we asked for. So we ordered 1 and I had a water. We also ordered fried pickles, and she responded the kitchen was closing soon, well we’ve been ready to order for over an hour, but that’s fine. We finish the small plate of pickles and the one disappointing drink, and just ask for the check. 30 more minutes of waiting and she still didn’t come back! We ended up leaving cash with the party and leaving. I’ve never written a review for anywhere, but there was more servers than sat tables, so why the server didn’t come back, didn’t know what drinks were available and why we were there for 2 hours and only saw her for maybe 2 minutes of that entire time I have no idea. She never came back to check on the...
