Dear Prudence — Local services in Northville

Dear prudence is an absolutely great place to shop in northville downtown area. Highly recommend the seasonal outfits, usually the store refills ahead of the season so you can check seasonal trends ahead of time as well. I probably have 60% of my outfits are from DP. I have introduced 90% of my friends to this place and shopped numerous times. Reasons to visit : Trendy clothes Reasonable prices Punch cards, finish 10 purchases and get % off for 11th item. Season ending sale for 50 to 60 % off Shop local, support small businesses Last but not the least, customer experience. On that note #5, i had such a horrible experience with one of the staff members. I purchased a full priced item for 60 $(appr). Havent tried, my fault because i thought large is perfect but medium still works. Anyways, while returning the item the next evening( less than 24 hrs ) , staff who was at the counter looked as if it was used, asked if i wore it. I clearly mentioned that i didnt use it but tried and size was the issue. Staff had hard time taking my answer, was chatting with her co worker and inquiring what to do with dirty collars, again i mentioned that i havent used it, and i was told she wasnt talking about me when the context was just my " items returns" at that moment. It was disrespectful ! I thought i was over- thinking and purchased what i needed to and never went to the store again.

DP has a no refund policy but gives an purchase exchange, Which is reasonable. Since i know the policy being a frequent customer for over 7 yrs, i already purchased a full priced item in exchange to what was returned. With this experience i had to rate low for overall customer experience, because i have been purchasing and being a customer over years.

Point here is when the staff knows the customers, the experience is really good and the customers would want to purchase again and visit often.

Its the customer experience that matters and in addition to the quality of goods that you purchase.

On this note again, one of the friend that i introduced this store to had a similar experience with returns and i dont have a time frame and more details to this incident.

Staff should be polite and help customers with patience. Its customer experience that helps businesses grow. Hopefully this feedback helps.

I stumbled upon DP one sunny day eating breakfast with my mom at Rebecca's. We walked into the store and instantly fell in love with the cutest selection of clothes and accessories and the prices were all extremely fair Bonus I loved it so much I decided to apply to work there that same day! I love coming into work every day looking forward to meeting our new customers and our loyal returners, helping them find the perfect outfit for whatever occasion they may have! We have customers of all ages with all different events to attend! My biggest thrill is seeing a smiling face come out of the fitting room in something I personally picked out for them. If you've shopped in the store while I'm working, chances are we found something in common to connect on during our conversation. Coming to DP, I hope to give you the girl talk you would have with one of your oldest friends and the confidence of a bomb outfit, if you have the time to play dress up for me! I was lucky enough to find Dear Prudence in Northville and it has become my go to shop for fashion!! I am a 61 year old female and had walked by the shop many times before finally going in. To be honest, I didn’t think that I would find much in “my age” group. I am beyond thrilled to say that I was wrong! Not only do they have clothes for any age and any body type, the outfits that Jalyn found for me were very flattering on me!! Jalyn was able to figure out my style and my size within a few minutes and although I only went in to look at one pair of pants, I walked out with quite a few new outfits! I feel so confident in every article of clothing I have purchased from there (and I have been back several times since my first visit!) and I feel like I look amazing!
