Stop & Shop — Local services in Norwalk

Huge store! Way bigger than other stop and shops. Also very clean and the staff is friendly. The manager is very rude though. He was standing right in front of the self checkout lane when it locked up on me and rather than help me out quickly as people were behind me, he instead yelled over to the cashier who was several hundred feet away checking out a different customer to come help me. The cashier literally had to stop what he was doing to come over and help me while his customer stood there waiting. That is very rude Mr.manager. You shouldn’t act like you are above others in your work environment. If a customer needs assistance you shouldn’t feel above it. That is part of your job too! I also walked past him prior to checking out and greeted him and he completely ignored me, even though he clearly made eye contact with me. In my opinion, this manager (balding short guy on the heavier side) needs to learn some proper etiquette and go through his customer service training again. Other than that I thoroughly enjoyed the selection and customer service I did receive from the other (much much younger) employees there. Keep up the good work guys and don’t let your a-hole...

Great Employees and clean, well stocked store. Today I visited this store as a out of towner and I had a great experience with the selection and the friendly and helpful employees. It was a good visit until I reached back home in NY and realized I left my wallet in the shopping cart. I called the store and spoke to Patricia Wallace who assisted me and took down my information and promised she would look into the matter. Twenty minutes later she called me back advising someone had returned it. Needless to say I was grateful but even more grateful when I arrived and met the great store manager Mr. Wilder who was kind, professional and explained how the wallet was returned to the store. Happy with this supermarket's grocery selection, especially the natural/organic options (on right and throughout store), where I can usually find what I want and get deals. It would be nice if they could add organic short/medium grain Asian rice though! Great hand-held price scanners, as their "Scan It" app requires its own Wi-Fi network.

But their coupon system and member application NEEDS TO BE FIXED! The app needs to remember coupon filters to make clipping coupons easier and quicker. Also at registers the coupon values should update item totals when you scan them at the registers and not until the final payment process! Also, digital coupons shouldn't take more than 5-15 minutes to load into your account, instead of 45 minutes! 🤬
