Went to Men's Wearhouse for my bridal party suit rentals after having a decent experience renting from them as a groomsman a couple of years back. Let me start with the positive, which is that they were very accommodating toward my wife and I amid the COVID-19 chaos, as we were originally planning to get married March of 2020, but had to reschedule a couple of times due to the pandemic. For this, I am very thankful and appreciative.
Despite this, I can't help but feel disappointed in the quality of the suits and customer service the week of my wedding. 3 out of the 7 dress shirts were extremely baggy around the arms/armpit area, and at least 2 ties were curved/crooked instead of laying straight down (photos attached for reference). I personally went to this location, as this was my pickup location for a couple of the suits for the fathers, to see if anything could be done about the baggy dress shirt and ties, and my concerns were essentially shrugged off as, "too bad, talk to corporate" and "we measure to the neck, so if that fits, nothing we can do".
What's strange is my groomsmen and father that had the baggy shirts all mentioned the shirts all fit way better when sizing was being done, thus, I don't understand the explanation on the baggy shirts we received as far as them going by the neck size. For the ties, I had to purchase my own ties since it was a few days before the wedding, and I did not have the time or energy to try and "talk to corporate" about trying to get new ties.
All in all, the flexibility around COVID-19 was good, but when it came down to quality and help received around the poor items we got, I can't help but have a sour feeling about the whole experience. I cannot recommend Men's Wearhouse for your suiting needs, and would say to look elsewhere.
UPDATE: after Men's Wearhouse reached out to me, they offered a generous refund for the given difficulties and experience I had. I appreciate it when a company chooses to acknowledge constructive feedback, and then attempts to make the affected party whole. In this case, I am satisfied and grateful for the level of service received, though it was...
Read moreIf I could give this place 0 stars, I would have. Please see attached photos. My fiancé got fitted for my sister’s wedding by Omar. Who clearly does not know how to use a tape measure or how a suit fits. Mistakes happen, however what has sent me over the edge is the management at this location. Tasha was completely unprofessional stating that the ill-fitting suit was “not her problem” and that we had to come pick up a replacement the day of our event. As you can imagine, that’s a stressful day for any family, so adding on a pick up from a store was not a warranted task. Jay, another manager, was slightly helpful, but just as rude and curt with the situation. They did NOT call around and ask if other stores had anything that we could use instead of having a shipment come in the day of the event. We were simply told “these are fit to tailor” and no one has these suits in stock so they had to order from their hub in Texas. Come to find out that the schaumburg location, minutes from norridge, had everything my fiancé needed in store. So, after doing all of the legwork ourselves we were able to pick up the exact suit we needed a day before my sister’s wedding without the assistance of this store AND without inconveniencing ourselves the day of the event. In addition to the horrifically small suit, their communication in subpar as well. Apparently the suit had been sitting in this location for days before we were notified. We even called the store (they are supposed to email you once it is in) and were told that the suit was not in. If we had come sooner, which we would have, the suit could have been reordered in a more timely manner. This location is poorly trained, has horrendous customer service, and zero empathy for their mistakes. I caution you to never use this location as long as the management...
Read moreI recently rented a suit from Men’s Wearhouse for my young son, who was the ring bearer in my brother’s wedding. Unfortunately, the experience was incredibly stressful and disappointing due to a series of avoidable mistakes and poor communication.
To start, my son was measured incorrectly, and the suit he received was an entire size too small. Although the suit was ready for pickup on Tuesday, I wasn’t able to get to the store until Thursday. At that point, they reordered a new jacket and pants, but I was told they wouldn’t arrive until Saturday morning—the day of the wedding.
This meant I had to scramble to find someone to take my son to the store that morning, during all the wedding day chaos, just to see if the new suit would fit or if further alterations were needed. I was told I’d receive an email once the suit arrived between 8:30 and 10:00 a.m., but no email ever came. My friend took him to the store when it opened, and while the jacket had arrived, the pants had not been reordered—despite being clearly too short.
The store did make an exception to unhem the original pants, but I don’t understand why that couldn’t have been done when I was there on Thursday. Instead of being met with sympathy, I had to deal with a defensive employee over the phone who added to my stress rather than helping to professionally resolve the issue.
In the end, my son missed the morning wedding events and won’t be in those photos—all because of a poor fitting and lack of proper follow-through. While they waived a $20 late fee and refunded $30 of the $60 rental, no amount of money can make up for the stress and inconvenience we experienced on such an important day.
I trusted Men’s Wearhouse with a special moment, and they...
