Westside Comics and Games — Local services in Oʻahu

What a neat store! I was visiting from the mainland a couple weeks ago and stopped by to browse comics and card games. They had a ton of amazing models, figures and comics. Signed posters on the walls from popular scifi TV shows and Warhammer tables in the back. As I was browsing, I heard the guy working take a few phone calls for comic grading questions and he was extremely knowledgeable, friendly and realistic with the customers.

I couldn't buy much since I was travelling but I spoke with the shopkeeper (I think your name was Julius, I was the guy from Wisconsin) about Magic since I was new to the game. He gave me some good info and recommended I look into the pre-release for the new DnD expansion that weekend at the store. While we were talking, he was helping another customer new to Pokemon cards and gave the kid a spare sleeve for his rare card - very humble gesture!

I ended up going to the pre-release and had a wonderful time. Everyone there was very friendly, all the other players were patient as I asked questions about the game and even though I placed dead last in the event, I had a blast. I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone, it seems to have a good community and excellent staff with a wide selection of comics, board games and...

The staff member and store were nice. One of the largest selection of warhammer products on island. They even had some boxes that are sold out everywhere like the christmas battleforce boxes. They are also the only store on island with a used/discount bin. Some of the sets in there are worth it but others are not. For example there were 10x infernus marines at $90 whereas the msrp (and price on their shelf) for new in box is $60. Otherwise all their new in box sets are priced exactly at msrp as on the Games Workshop website, which still may be a saving considering shipping costs to Hawaii, but is nowhere near the average 15% discount from an online discount retailer or Amazon I was hoping for. That is on par with other stores on island, though. As such will be giving 5 stars as they are the best on island source, but will likely continue to order from online.

Never again this is the first and last purchase I ever make from them which I purchased three books of the last ronin and when I received there were creases and dents on the books cause they didn’t package it correctly why? Cause what they did they put a comic board on the font and a small carton in the middle and they taped all around and then they put it in a post office priority envelope. They did not secure the all the comic books which were three of them. They did not put big carton front and back to protect all 3 books. I was so upset what’s the use of calling them cause they will say: I do apologize and say to send it back well don’t know in that part but either way for what, cause I have to pay shipping to send it back and lose money. What a waste of time so angry I prefer bigtimecollectibles, impulse creations, midtown comics, third eye comics, they know how to secure with excellent packaging. Like I said earlier this will be my first and last time....
