I spent time in the Pottery Barn, Oak Brook, IL, location, on Saturday the 7th. It was a beautiful day and quite busy. When I walked in, CLARICE immediately made eye contact with me, and I told her that I had a laundry list of items I was going to be purchasing. Clarice is incredible and clearly loves her job, and she was immediate in her response that she would be helping me. I was looking for new throw pillows for my couch set (7 in total) throw blankets, and a few other items - but my biggest purchase was going to be a coffee table, end table, and console table. I have to give a huge THANK you to CLARICE!!! She was absolutely amazing, and I had a fun time with her picking out a brand new color scheme for my living room. Clarice has a brilliant personality, and I appreciated her passion and ideas. She put colors together that I wouldn't have even thought to do, and she "staged" her ideas for me, and I was immediately sold! I've bought a LOT of furniture from PB and other items through the online site over the years, so this was the first time in a physical store in over a decade. I will DEFINITELY be returning to the Oak Brook location to work with Clarice on other purchases. My next goal is to get new couches, and I made sure to let Clarice know and told her that she will be my go to when that time comes. Everything she put together will work with the colors I'm looking at for the new PB couches. With that said, if you're going to be shopping at Pottery Barn in Oak Brook, IL, you should immediately ask for CLARICE. As a final note, whomever at the Corporate Office is responsible for rewarding employees, something extremely nice is warranted for Clarice, as she clearly is a highly valued employee. Clarice sets the bar for Corporate to focus on employee retention of their best employees, as it can be difficult to keep the best of the best motivated and happy. I've been in sales for over 20 year, and as someone who is a "boss lady" and responsible for building teams, I can appreciate those who go above and beyond and always make a point of giving credit when credit is due! This review may be a bit verbose, but I wanted to make sure that I didn't leave anything out! As a side note, as soon as I received the email from PB asking me to review my shopping experience with Clarice, I immediately clicked the link and gave her the highest praise! Thank...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI ordered a buffet back in March, it was showing available in late April. Never arrived. After many many frustrating phone calls, they determined it was lost. No one in the store can help you. You have to call corporate support. They can't really help either, and have no ability to escalate to management. The second order (which I had to re-order myself) was damaged and Ryder called to let me know.
Don't get me started about Ryder, I ordered multiple pieces of furniture from PB over the last 12 months, and my experience with Ryder and the people who work there was worse than the cable company. Every single person who works there I've interacted with has been unfailingly rude.
So after nearly 30+ phone calls to Pottery Barn, and nearly as many to Ryder, once again, I had to re-order the piece of furniture which they said would arrive before I move (out of state). Of course they didn't meet this commitment, and now I've made nearly another dozen phone calls to get the order cancelled and refunded.
Honestly, the products are beautiful, but if you have to get anything delivered you are in for a lot of pain.
I even wrote a letter to the CEO of the company, never got a response.
Interestingly, store staff, management, customer service, even customer service supervisors have NO means to escalate a customer complaint to management, so no one there is listening, management is completely out of touch and disconnected from what is happening to their customers.
I would be very surprised if this company lasts in the long run the way it is managed. They can't seem to deliver on the products they sell, and deal with customer issues.
Why they continue to use a horrible company like Ryder to deliver is really beyond me. This is Chicago, one of the largest markets in the country, not a remote...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis location unlike any other Iāve been to is the most horrible in customer service and employees lack manners! Waited long to be helped for no reason while employees chatted on the side then finally had one employee who was already helping someone to help anc she ended up warming up to us and I placed my order with her, after the order was placed that one and only nice employee in the store went on her break. I needed some more help so I asked another employee wish I can remember her name I asked her to check on if an item was available in different sizes online, she said ok and disappeared and when I got to the checkout I saw her and addressed politely that I never got an answer to my request and she said o I forgot then proceeded to say loudly as other customers listen that the item I wanted was a clearance item anyway āwhich wasnāt and was a new item at the storeā and when I pointed that out she said she doesnāt know why it said that the first time she pulled it up and that there were no sizes but when I got home I checked and there were many different sizes after I had purchased what was not my first choice had she actually did her job and checked! Very rude and judgmental staff all over. Definitely would never step foot at that location and Iām glad itās not my area store i regularly go to because I love this store just never...
