TLDR: Employees here will show you an item on sale in store, convince you to order it through them for free shipping, and then will try to charge you full price without telling you the total.
Details: Came in yesterday to buy a bread knife and found one on sale that I planned to buy. Employee 1 told me it was out of stock but they could order it for me online. I told them I could do it myself since the line was long and she insisted that I make it in store since they “compete against the warehouse for sales”. I agreed and she gave me a piece of paper with the item number on it. I made it up to the register and was then asked for all my information for the order by Employee 2.
At the VERY END of the transaction I remembered she had told me the shipping date but not the price. I reminded her of this and asked “Can you confirm the final total before we place the order?” She informed me it was $120- which was $80 more than the sale price. I told her that I was hoping to purchase the one on sale for $40 that I saw on their shelf. She told me “Well I’m not seeing it on sale” I told her that I would show her the sale price and we could talk to Employee 1 that told me it was on sale. She walked to the knife department and promptly said “well I’m not sure there’s anything we can do about that” when she saw I was right. She then turned around and walked away from us without addressing us while talking in her walkee. My partner and I were baffled at how rude or thoughtless she was being. We followed her back to the register area (not sure if we were supposed to) and stood off to the side while she chatted with a few employees. She finally addressed us and said “We aren’t able to adjust online prices. We don’t price match.” And while I find it absolutely absurd that they wouldn’t price match their own price (??), I just wanted to leave because I felt like this was just a waste of time at this point and it felt very scammy that they were trying to get me to order this full priced. I told her fine and that I was fine without it. I reminded her that she still had all of my order information saved and open on the computer (including my credit card number) and I wanted her to delete it. We had to wait for another employee to finish their transaction on it (even though their were 3 other registers open) and then Employee 2 finally confirmed that she deleted the order.
There was 0 apology or acknowledgment that she had nearly charged me 3x what I intended to spend if I had not done her job and asked her what my total was. She was incredibly rude during the whole interaction and i find this policy of not matching their own price really questionable (especially wondering how much they need sales to “compete against the warehouse”). This whole interaction was felt slimy and I certainly won’t be returning to...
Read moreI love this location and shop here often, but I am giving them one star because of the rudeness I encountered from a manager named Rita. She must be new as I have no memory of her from previous visits. The sales associates were charming and helpful in ordering a Le Creuset pot valued at over $400. I inquired about their price match policy since I saw it advertised on QVC for $100 less. The sales associate said she would verify my request with the manager. Before she could do that, she turned around and saw Rita, whose back was facing us, shake her head "no". She had the lack of courtesy to even look at us and I doubt she heard me clearly since I was wearing a mask and several feet away from her. It was not too much to ask for a so-called manager to explain the reason in a respectful time and apologize for the confusion. The correct procedure, for a manager to address a customer who is spending over $400 in your store, is to be respectful and at least look at them when answering a question. Rita also said Sur la Table is excluded from the price match policy because they are in full liquidation. She is wrong about that because they are not in full liquidation. She could not explain why QVC was excluded as well, and told me to call Williams Sonoma. If it werent for the polite sales associate I would have not purchased anything and left. She was dismissive of another customer as well. I hope this is addressed and brought to...
Read moreJoAnne you made my first experience a terrible one. Went in because I wanted a juicer for years and this place had the one i wanted! The place was busy and she was the only one wandering around free so i proceeded. HUGE mistake! I told her I was previously talking to someone about a juicer and they had put it on hold for me. She very rudely says "ok which juicer!?" with her arms flying up. When i tell her the exact juicer she goes, "ok pftt i don't have any idea what that one is" so she went to go check . I was waiting for about 4min when she comes back and says that's online only. I asked her if they ship to the store. She said yes, i was still very happy because i would be able to get it, plus on sale! I told her "perfect! my friend is going to be in tomorrow to buy it for me!" she then said "you can order it online if you'd like" I said, "well i would like to support the store:)" she then said"well, whatever" WHATEVER! like what!!!??i would never ever say that to a customer. When she quickly noticed how in shock i was that she said that she said, "well i mean ya you can order online or in the store whatever" I am so upset i...
