Dollar General — Local services in Oak Island

TThe store was clean and easy to move around in but like all other Dollar General stores there needs to be more than 1 cashier when there is 3 or more people with quite a bit of stuffed in there carts. There is no reason to have 8 people in a line and 1 register open. Also you had windex refills marked buy one get a big roll of DG paper towels free. I told the cashier I wasn't sure if the ones I had were right or if it would come off without a digital coupon because I would use them but I wouldn't buy them. She said it would come off the end. Then she said well it took off .85 here and .15 there so that makes a dollar so it must have took them off. Well I'm thinking it also took off .41 and .57 but did that have anything to do with it? You really need to make it a little easier to tell what came off of what it at least train your cashiers on dollar...

Great place to find many different things needed for your household. Especially like that you pay less for some things than you would at Walmart. I like the cards they carry. Paper products can be picked up for a good price. I even found a few good graduation gifts for my 5 year old grandson that was graduating from Preschool and going on to kindergarten. Glad to see one on the island as I went to the previous sure in 211 often. Love the decorative boxes they carry, too. Occasionally I can find the cereal we like for a very good price,too. Worth checking them out. You never know what you may find here and pay lowest available...

This used to be a really nice store, but clearly something has happened with managemen & staffing. Popped in there yesterday and there was a sign saying closed from 1-5, went back this morning and it was in such a disastrous state, I couldn't even remember why I went in there! Food piled in carts, milk and refrigerated items sitting out, crates and boxes everywhere, stuff scattered about but nothing in its designated place, virtually impossible to move down the aisles. A person with limited mobility would be in danger in here and if the fire Marshall walked in, the store would most definitely be cited for...
