Belk — Local services in Oak Ridge

Today, I was just browsing, a few pieces in Jewelry dept, as I approached the counter to pay, the Sales Associate was with another customer, and look at me, said "Can I help you with something?" I was like, well I can wait till you complete this lady's transaction, and I notice she asked this customer if she had a Belks card. Ok, I had 3 items, and she began to ring them up, and gave me the price ..and I said "Arent you going to ask if I had a belks card ?" She said, oh, well do you? I said Yes..immediately this made me feel so insulted, I then said, I will just take one of the items...it was 2 other ladies standing there, doing merchandising, one needed her, so another cashier took over my sale, didn't say thank you or anything...this was my worst experience in Belks, usually I enjoy shopping in this Belks in Oak Ridge, because I live there, Ms Velma and Lisa are always so nice to me, rather I am in jeans and hat, or sunday dress...I just felt like I was being judged for some reason or...

I like coming to this store because of their service, however I don’t appreciate interrogating question of one of the associates (Cindy), I had a luggage purchased from a different store and was carrying that under my stroller and this associate stopped me and asked me if I have a luggage under the stroller and I said yes, then she saw the tag on it from the store I had purchased that from, and I said I didn’t get this from here! I understand that it’s necessary to keep an eye however they should be considerate of the fact that people can be carrying stuff from different stores since it is not the only store in the mall! She wasn’t even apologetic about that either! I find this very disturbing and offending! She made me very uncomfortable and I won’t be coming back to this store ever again! It is very inappropriate & disrespectful behavior from this...

Ok store, convenient especially if you don't want to drive into Knoxville but it's not as good as other Belk stores I've been in. With all the new stores in Oak Ridge, I'd expect them to step up and be the leader they could and should be - there's so much vacant space - and has been for awhile - it makes you wonder if they are closing. I like that the mens/home sections are not in a totally different building/location - that issue makes the ones in Turkey Creek less desirable and I tend to make 'home' purchases at stores other than Belk's to avoid an...
