Saturday October 13, 2018. Something has happened with this store. I have done business with this store over the past two years in re-doing my condo in North Ocean City. Up until this past Saturday it had been a pleasure, I could go in, get what I needed, and actually have a nice visit. There seems to be a new staff, and this is not an improvement. I needed a gallon of paint mixed, I brought in a sample and this should have been a snap. I waited by the paint department for quite a while and no one came. Finally I asked and was told to find the "guy with the pony tail". So I walked through the store and actually went into the back room only to find the guy "with the pony tail" running a fork lift. When he looked at me I asked him if he could help me with paint, and his come back was that he was doing something and he would be there soon. More than 20 minutes later, I saw him in the store stocking shelves. So I found another guy standing in the paint dept and asked him if he could help me. His answer was "I guess so". There were no more than 3 customers in the store the entire 45 minutes I waited. Even if this would have been the height of the season this service would not be acceptable to anyone. My wife and I stopped by to pick up some parts to replace a tub spout and shower hot/cot handles. We did not need help; we consulted doctors Google and YouTube beforehand...boy were we WRONG...lol. When we returned to the store, a bit dazed and confused, Jeremy remembered seeing us before and offered to help. He took us around to various parts of the store to get all the pieces we would be using....not buying but USING to do our repairs. He grabbed a piece of copper tube to SHOW us what to do. In the end, what took us 3+ hours to screw up on our own, he shrunk down to 15 minutes the second time around.
If you go to Rommel's Ace in Ocean City, MD, bring a Mountain Do, ask for Jeremy, hand him the Do then sit back and learn!!!

Read moreAround 11am Sunday 6/20/21 I visited the store with my 2 young children and had a great service experience with one of the employees here.
I did not catch his name but he seemed like a team lead or manager since I saw him in the check out, mixing paint, helping with returns, as well as assisting me with some wood getting cut. He was wearing a blue/green shirt which also was different than the other employee uniforms.
His assistance with cutting some boards saved me a long trip to Home Depot and allowed me to get back to family activities (it was fathers day).
It just seemed like he went above and beyond his job duties and for this service I am grateful. I have a condo in town and visit Ace a lot for odds and ends and staff like this really do keep me coming back.
