Wanted to try this "highly-rated" buffet to see what the craze was about and was fairly disappointed to say the least. Right as my husband and I went into the restaurant, we were told we would have to wait ten mins for a table, cool- not a problem. As the host was talking to us, getting out contact info for the table, a gentlemen- manager maybe...? comes to me and advises me to go home and change since it is a bit chilly inside. super random but I decide to go home since we are about a 5 min drive away and I make sure to tell my hubby I'll be back quickly and to get seated at the table once they call us. So after 10 mins he goes to them asking about the table and they said they wouldn't be able to seat him since I am not present. How inconvenient. I get back and we are told to wait longer since there were more people who got on the waitlist after I had left to get changed. We finally get told there is availability for us inside, so we follow the host; she takes us on this wild goose chase, searching for an open table while we're awkwardly following and telling her that there are a bunch of clean looking tables but apparently they haven't been wiped? After scrambling for some time to find a clean table we finally sit down and take a look at the food being served at the buffet. Food looked mediocre at best- definitely not $50 per person worth but it was alright. After we filled our plates up and began to eat, we tasted what felt like the most average tasting food- salad dressing was already mixed into the salad making the lettuce taste xtra soggy, Chicken tasted like they put it in the microwave ect. Moral of the story: you won't find us here again. Save your money and if you're looking for good seafood places to eat, try Higgins or Belly Busters...

We had been planning to dine at Bonfire for 2 days. This was the one big night out with the family. We were a party of 9 so I was impressed to be seated in 15 minutes. Place was busy and the buffet was mostly full and had variety of options. Meals overall were average tasting but not very warm. The server started ok but began to become snarky and at the end- just rude. Alison, our server, was surprisingly unprofessional after she explains that our 2 year old granddaughter needed to turn down the volume of the phone she was watching a cartoon on. The place was almost at capacity and trust me you could not hear anything past the person across from you let alone this phone. We were caught off guard by her as she tells my daughter to turn down the phone. Regardless, she stands on her position as we begin to tell her that she's a bit out of line. My wife asks for a manager and that this point explain she's the manager and we can pay our bill and leave! I ask her to be honest and tell me who the manager is and she points out a man in a tie. I find the manager Rick and he attempts to make amends but the server now is yelling from another table about we are lying- to her manager? He said he was sorry the way she acted and assigned a different server. We simply wanted a nice meal- we are laid back customers when we dine out but this Alison lady was way off base. There's not a chance this was her first time being this way towards customers as he would not stop her when she was yelling across the table at us. Poor man is intimidated by his staff. Just disappointed- this could have been a great night out but nasty server killed it for us. We did tip the other server a hefty sum after paying the...

While we have started the tradition to eat at Bonfire for my husband's birthday celebration and it is usually a great experience, this past season's experience was not. To spend this much, we expect great food, a nice experience and appropriate service. First off, our waitress was lovely, with only small wait time. Seated in a great area which was highly enjoyable. Now, I am not a big reviewer, complainer or Karen, today I have to do so. This prime rib server was absolutely terrible! I heard my husband and son ask three times to not be served the end pieces, but a better cut off pink middle. It was like the server had just a little bit of an issue for some reason because I watched him serve the next 3 customers with better service, attentiveness and the cuts they asked for with friendly service. My husband and 9 yr old son went back up because of course this is why we we there, because of the great tasting prime rib! This prime rib station server, again, gave my husband and 9 year old son a hard time and tried to give him the old ends and not responsive when asked for a better cut. His response was you can always come back up. I mean.. We paid like everyone else and expected the same great service and experience we have always gotten. Had anyone else had this issue? Just wondering? For the establishment, everyone looked professional except the one touching the meat. He shouldn't look unkempt and like he just stepped in from work release at a spot paid top dollar for... and absolutely rude. We would love to come back again after this one issue is addressed. Long time customers hoping to visit again soon. That lobster ravioli and added crab legs...

OCEAN CITY SERIES Pt3 brings us to the longest standing seafood buffet in OC - @thebonfireocmd 🔥 So here’s the thing.. all-you-can-eat seafood buffets are a tradition in Ocean City, and the Bonfire has survived the test of time serving the beach and bay side communities since 1973! Not only can you eat everything your stomach desires, but you can also order King Crab Legs at $30 for 3 pounds - such a steal! Here’s what you can enjoy from the buffet- 🍤 Fried Seafood including shrimp, clamstrips, 🍜 She-Crab soup, Lobster Bisque, Clam Chowder, Seafood Chowder 🦪 Mussels, crawfish and crab meat 🥗 Salad bar with ahi tuna 🥩 Carving station with Prime Rib & Ham 🌮 Mexican station with fixings tacos, burritos, nachos and quesadillas 🍗 Pulled pork, brisket, fried chicken 🥦 Green beans, corn, broccoli, mashed potato 🍔 Chicken wings, Mac and cheese, sliders, mozz sticks & onion rings 🥡 Chinese chicken, boneless spare ribs, egg rolls, crab Rangoon 🍨 And endlesssasa desserts!!! 📍Ocean City, MD #mangiamama #foodblogger #foodblog #foodblogfeed #foodie #foodies #foodiegram #foodporn #ctfood #cteats #ctfoodie #ctfoodblogger #oceancity #oceancityeats #thebonfire #allyoucaneat #seafood #primerib #buffet #mexicanfood #mangia

As far as so called seafood buffets go we, my wife and I were maybe expecting a little more seafood on what is dubbed as a "seafood buffet" that is for a little less of a price as well. Being that it was $43.99 a person for the buffet and then $17.99 extra for my wife to have literally a couple of crab leg clusters. I mean if you're going to charge that much for the buffet anyway throw some crab legs on that thing. The rest of the buffet however was sufficient with plenty of varieties of food selections. As far as the maximum customer capacity levels go I think they need to be lowered because we felt packed in like sardines and could not get to the buffet without basically running into several other fellow patrons and then feeling rushed while we were getting our food and trying to get back to our table before it got cold. In the end not a completely bad experience but for the price I'm glad I didn't bring the kids for this meal and next time we're in town I think we'll try someplace else.

This place won’t stay in business much longer!!We should have turned around at the hostess station… 5 hostess’s and not one of them greeted us. After sorting through which one would take the effort whether or not they had a table available, we got seated. The place is obnoxiously loud and smelled like a barn. We then were greeted by the sweetest most cheerful waitress named Sofiyah, who took our drink order, then released us to the buffet. Family of six had no problem harvesting a variety of foods and each and every family member had nothing good to say about any of the food. Our 35$ additional crab legs were the worst, so salty that they were not even able to be finished by the 6 of us. Half the meat was stuck in the shell and couldn’t even get it out of the shell because it was so dry. This restaurant was the most expensive restaurant we went to on our trip to OC and by far the worst tasting and unsatisfying of all. Don’t waste your hard earned money on this dogfood.
