Arrow in Ocean Shores is not geared for the average homeowner, but for contractors. I absolutely hate that I couldn't walk the yard without an escort. On my first visit, I was told I had to purchase items then would just get them loaded. They disagreed with me when I asked for starter shingles and sold me ridge shingles instead. When the items were being loaded I said they weren't what I asked for, but the starter shingles next to the ridge shingles were what I wanted. We both had to go back inside to do the exchange. It was a hassle and waste of time for myself and the yard worker. This visit took well over an hour for nails, shingles and a couple of 1x3s. On my second visit I had to wait almost 20 minutes for someone to load (6) 2x4s and (2) 1x3s. My time is worth more than a couple of gallons of gas to drive to the Aberdeen Home Depot. At least at HD I expect to be treated like I'm not a priority, but I can pick out and load...

Excellent customer service! Good lumber & pricing. What really impressed me was their friendly attitude and willingness to serve. I was running late one day on my way to pick up some deck joists that I needed to continue my deck job the following day. I called about 30 min before closing and told them what I needed and that I would be there about 10 min before closing. The guy on the phone spoke to the store owner I believe.. possibly the manager, (sorry I can't remember his name) and said that he would stay to take care of me! He not only took my order, leaving us about 5 min until closing but ran out to the yard and helped me pick and load the lumber! I cannot say enough good things about him and his store/employees. Honestly I was a little intimidated walking into this hardware store because it has a lot of stuff in a small area, BUT... the owner (I'm assuming he was either the owner or manager) was super sweet and guided me to all of the things that I thought I might need. This was my first time in the store and I just know that I'll definitely shop there in the future because he was so friendly and kind. There's also a few really cool things about this store: There's a piano that you can play if you're talented enough to know how to play. They have free popcorn!
