My fiance and I are very disappointed to be leaving a bad review. We have stayed here for our anniversary every year, room 16, and had a wonderful time and a cozy visit. This time we tried to stay in room 12, my fiance had seen that it might have a better/bigger hot tub. We were excited to try something new, but quickly disappointed with what can only be likened to a 1980's campy horror movie scene. Our hot tub was outdated, not necessarily a problem, but the nails sticking out from cheap trim boards that then stuck my leg were definitely a problem. As we filled our hot tub, we were severely disgusted by gross, grimy and bubbles coming up from the bottom, what we assume was residue left over from cleaning razor clams inside (again, not necessarily the inn's fault, but definitely still gross.) The shower stall was small, outdated and MOLDY! 3 of 4 bulbs above the bathroom mirror were out or missing. We left to run to the vending machine for soda, the door locked behind us and left our dog panicked inside a room alone. The room sported a 90s model tv, one news channel, and a deafening tone whenever it was turned on. The bedroom lampshade was stained....blood? We slept on top of the bedding with the extra blanket because we didn't want to risk any more disappointment, and were freezing all night because the heater refused to maintain a temperature. All in all, I am surprised this establishment is allowed to stay open in these types of conditions. I called this morning to see if they would offer a correction (normally, I wouldn't care but we paid $110 for one freezing, gross night. I would have rather camped.) and nothing was offered besides a discount the next time we make it in....we obviously won't...
Read moreThe Weatherly Inn is without a doubt the WORST place I've ever stayed. Definitely NOT worth the $175.94 it cost me for 2 nights. After I checked in I quickly found out why they took my $$ upon check in instead of when I checked out. First there was no cold water.....boiling hot water came out of all water faucets. when I complained they called plumber & it was fixed within an hour and a half.......or so I thought! The water ended up being less than room temp. (which was not comfortable...but more on that later) and we had cold showers and the Jacuzzi was useless. When I complained about that I was given some stupid excuse that the rooms on either side of mine were on the same hot water tank & I should wait a little while for the water to warm up........well it was still cold the next morning! The place is very, very, very outdated. The furniture is stained & dirty. The room was very drafty and cold...the small wall heater in the living room area was so inadequate I used the oven to help heat the place. The bathroom was a mess......so old and stained up......
The woman whom I assumed was the owner or manager seemed uninterested when I expressed my concerns to her. It would have been nice for her to offer at least one nights fee back. I told her how disappointed I was and would NEVER be back......her expression was that she didn't give a damn........which was...
Read moreWe stayed 2 nights at the Weatherly Suites, as we try and do a couple of times a year at the ocean. ||We stayed in room 21, which has the Jacuzzi tub in the bathroom. Let's start there. We ended up not taking baths, just showering. The jets to the tub had black slime growing in them. Since there is not constant chlorine going through them as in a regular spa, they need to be cleaned frequently. I doubt these have ever been cleaned. ||Smoke detectors - There were none. We could see where they had been, as the rings were still attached to the ceiling, but they detectors had been removed. I'm pretty sure they are required by law to be there. ||light fixture - The light fixture in the bathroom had a broken bulb. Not one where you could reach up and unscrew it, one where the entire bulb was gone and just the base and filament were there. I was not about to stick my finger in there and get it out. ||Linens - most of the towels and the bed sheets were so threadbare you could see through them, or there were large holes. The second day's towels were much better. I suggest a purge to get rid of the old ones. ||We will give them another try, we usually do. But I hope this motivates them to either contact the owners to get some of these issues taken care of, or they take the initiative to do...
