Peppermint Parlor — Restaurant in Ocean Shores

Let me start by saying, the ice cream is DELICIOUS! Lots of flavors to choose from, we were all extremely happy with our choices. However, I can only give 1 star for service.

We went here 2 times during our stay at Ocean Shores. Yes, the line was long but no biggie. The first time we went, the service was great - the gal who helped us was friendly and quick.

We decided to go back the next day - of course different staff working. First, my husband asked what the difference was between their shakes and malts. The gal had no idea. Ummm, okay. So my husband just ordered a shake.

My son and I order the same things as we did the night before. I ordered a half a scoop of 2 kinds of ice cream. The gal says she can't do that. I was a bit confused, because I ordered the EXACT SAME THING just the day before. I tell her this and she's like, "okay, I can do that." Okay...?? So she gets me my ice cream, and I'm not kidding, the amount was about half of what I got the night before! I thought maybe she thought I wanted a junior scoop, but no she charged me for a full scoop. My son's scoop of ice cream was also maybe 2/3 of the scoop he got the night before. Obviously there is no consistency of what a "scoop" of ice cream is here.

On top of all this, she's complaining about how long the lines are. Maybe her lack of knowledge of product offerings, small scoop size, and exasperation of the long line was due to her being a new employee?? I have no idea. But I was so disappointed after having such a great experience the night before, then receiving sub-par service a day later. Hopefully the management will take note and work on customer service and...

If you are looking for a cool place to grab a delicious treat but don't want to travel to Aberdeen/Hoquiam this is the place to go! They have a wide variety of ice creams prepared in unique yummy ways!

They also have a strong selection of savory food options that we didn't try on this visit but, if even half of them taste half as good as the smells wafting their siren scent to me like Odysseus, I will no doubt be back to fall prey to their delicious wiles.

I had the Raspberry/Strawberry flavor blast soft serve and it lived up to its name. But no matter what you choose you can't go wrong!

The Staff were great! Friendly and patient, we had my 89yr Grandmother with us and the staff waited calmly while she decided what she wanted which, with her neurological issues can be something of an adventure but they were phenomenal!

If you're coming in the summer this place can get PACKED! Especially since it's right next to a family entertainment center(go karts and such) so be aware that you may have to wait in line.

Be patient, be respectful or don't bother going those folks don't need rude-itude in the middle of their rush season or ever!

To wrap this up I will definitely be going back with regularity to try as much of the fare as I can and...

Was there for july 4 weekend. Went to get ice cream on the 4th before heading to the beach for fireworks. Sign on the door says only 3 people allowed at dipping cabinets at a time. When my wife and I tried to enter just inside the door and wait we were told to wait outside. Apparently its 3 people in the store at a time. Upon reading the sign, I had observed a group of maybe 6 or 7 people in the store who were together. So apparently either the staff don't understand the 3 person rule or they just decide to pick and choose and how many people they let in at a time. Also once I was inside, and deciding what icecream I wanted. I observed a female and at least one male employee both wash their gloves and return to work. This is a direct food handling, health and safety violation and also extremely lazy. Gloves are to be removed, hands washed and new gloves put on.
