Hi there, Today, I had a very disappointing experience at the HomeGoods location in Oceanside. My wife and I had previously purchased an accent chair from a different HomeGoods store located about 26 miles away (off the I-805 South). However, after bringing it home, we realized it didn’t match the rest of our rental furniture, so we decided to return it. On our way back, we stopped at the Oceanside HomeGoods location around 4:45 PM. When we entered, there were no other customers in line or at the cashier counter. Two female employees were standing and chatting, and next to them was a gentleman named Jameson, who we later found out was the manager. None of them acknowledged us or offered any help. After waiting for about 30–45 seconds, one of the cashiers — a blonde woman whose name I didn’t catch — finally decided to assist us. However, after a lengthy discussion, she refused to process the return, claiming that the tag didn’t match the item — as if suggesting we had somehow altered the invoice. I asked to speak with the manager, who was only a couple of steps away, but the cashier simply told us we had to return the item at the original store of purchase — meaning a 26+ mile drive back — without giving a clear explanation why. Feeling frustrated, we took the chair and drove to the Las Pasas HomeGoods location. There, we were helped immediately by a kind and professional cashier who processed the refund without any issue. I strongly advise others to avoid the Oceanside HomeGoods location. The staff there were rude, unhelpful, and dismissive — certainly not what we expect from a store like HomeGoods. I’ve already shared this experience with friends and family, and I hope action is taken to improve the service and professionalism at this store. Here below is the return receipt! So, it...
Read moreI usually shop at the HomeGoods in Encinitas and always have a very good experience there. The staff are polite, kind, and respectful.
Today I had to shop at the Oceanside location because I didn’t have time to go to Encinitas, and unfortunately I had a very bad experience. The cashier, Bianca, was very rude. When I greeted her, she didn’t respond. During the whole checkout she didn’t say a single word to me, and only told me the total. I was buying a fragile glass dish, and she never asked me if I wanted a paper bag or plastic bag. I was surprised, because how could I carry a glass dish in my hands without protection? When I asked her for a paper bag, she told me, “You have to say please to me.” This was very disrespectful, especially since she didn’t even answer my greeting at the start.
At the end, I spoke to the manager and explained what happened. she said she would talk to her. But this behavior was very disappointing and rude. I have never experienced something like this in HomeGoods before, and I would not recommend this location to anyone. Encinitas has much nicer and more...
Read moreSo glad Homegoods finally opened in Oside. Great location. But very disappointed with managers (2 women). They both are terrible. Their behaviers are the almost identical and were thinking they are sister...?... both are not a manager level, quality (filled with extremely moody, angry, rude, loud) and the most importantly, they don't know what they are doing and their job description. It seems like they come work with their own drama. Not even sure they are trainable because seen them a several times and they are consistently loud, rude, strong to the customers and ready to kick people out ("why are you here?! or don't bother me!" attitude). Feel bad for the company, co-workers and...
