I walked in with a $900 Seiko watch that needed a new battery. The grumpy individual working on the watches opened it up and told me it was melted. He then asked how long the dead battery was left in the watch. I told it him it had been a while. He told me the best thing to do was to throw it away. I didn't agree and asked if he could switch out the battery anyway just to give it a try. He insisted that I should get over it and throw it in the garbage. He added that the longer I look at it everday, the more upset it will make me, and that there was definitely no way to fix this watch. With that said, I took the watch to my father's home, we used his watch repair kit to open it, cleaned it with a small brush, replaced the battery, and it worked perfectly. My father is no watch repair guy, but clearly has more skill and common sense. This guy may have business repairing watches, but he is clearly no professional, shows zero courtesy, very rude, and makes horrible recommendations. Automatic watch was broken, he opens the back and within 30 seconds he says "this is a nice watch with an ETA movement but made with cheaper parts." Which is exactly why I researched and bought this affordable watch. Watchmaker knew the back story without even asking. I wouldn't go anywhere else! The owners of this shop are very good people. I trust them. For example, my mother had wanted to sell her Rolex. I brought it in, having no idea what it was worth or how to sell it. They showed me several values, gave me critical info regarding the watch and also options on how to sell it. They even said I could conduct the sale/transaction between myself and a potential online buyer inside their store for her. Luckily my sister and I were able to convince her to keep the watch and pass it down to her granddaughters. I'm very happy to have a shop this good so...
