This is our first summer coming to the pool religiously, they are open 1-6 Sat-Thurs and open 1-7 on Fridays.

If you do not bring a puddle jumper/ life jacket for your child, they do have them you can rent while you’re here .

If your child is using a flotation device they cannot jump off the diving board , do the slides or cross into the deep end (5ft +) Which is for SAFTEY .

Yes there are teenagers running the pool , they are out here working hard . Which finding someone who wants to work is few and far in between these days. And let’s face it , they are doing a fantastic job because a lot kids (not all of them) these days were not raised the same as the adults were . A lot of todays children do not care AT ALL. they are mouthy and purposefully monsters with no understanding of authority just to push the limits .

Yes the guards hang out in the shack , but they also deserve breaks too. Just because they are working doesn’t mean EVERYONE has to be in a stand. Is everyone always working at your job ?

Just because they’re in their guard suit doesn’t mean they’re on the clock.

Yes they have a 15 minute adult only swim from 4-415. I am pretty sure most pools do an adult only swim. This is also a great time that the kids are told by someone other than a parent . (I know it’s easier for a kid to be told to do something by someone other than a parent ! ) to get out , drink some water , go potty , eat a snack , BREATHE for a minute .

I have never heard a rude thing out of ANY of the guards/managers . They have all treated everyone equal and have been the BEST.

I have full confidence my kids - 5,7&10 - could be here without me and they would all be 110% safe and protected.

My youngest was terrified of going into any water he couldn’t touch , the female manager (who is amazing) took it upon her self to show him there is nothing to be scared of. Within TWO days she had him jumping off the diving board. She has also came on her day OFF just to come hang out and swim with my kids.

We also did swimming lessons here in July 2023. Again zero complaints. Monday - Thursday 615pm - 645pm for 2 weeks - 8 days of instruction.

The boy manager (who is amazing) has also went above and beyond for the kids. I have heard him correct kids before and it was done in the nicest way possible . Way better than I have heard adults correct people .

ALL these guards have never gotten annoyed or snippy towards my children with their 1000 questions or following them around .

Also i have never met any of these kids before we started coming to the pool . I know almost all the employees here names. Take the time , get to know people , have a little grace , and have a great time .

My initial complaint is for today's events from trying to attend the Odessa pool. But after 3 FAILED visits I don't feel like any of the visits here have been what they should have been for what few hours they are open and the amount of staff they have here when they are open. There's either no slides open or there's no one paying attention when they are at their designated watchtowers. And after today's events and they're willing to pay off children to leave so they can go home early! I'm extremely upset and disappointed with how this place is being run if teenagers are able to make these decisions that affect not only business but the overall customer experience, which from my experience has been extremely poor!

After getting there slightly after 1:00 today until right around 3:00 (after the two buses of small children had left) the lifeguards started going around to the teenagers still there; asking them if they would leave so they could get off early. I told them no we have friends coming around 3:30 and can't get here sooner. Plus we were dropped off when the pool opened today and don't even have a pick up ride until 5:30! However, then they started to say it was going to storm which it isn't (please see current weather screenshot). Meanwhile they gave a dollar to about half of the kids left behind so they could get some chips and go ahead and leave the pool. Regardless we still had to go and now we're waiting on a ride and sitting at the park in the meantime

I called the line to speak with somebody in charge at the pool; who was very courteous but had no real answers other than if it's less than 10 people they make that judgment call which there was at least 12 to 15 when they started asking people to leave. The concession stand has great food and it is a fun place to come. Their is early morning aerobics and evening aerobics. There are swimming lessons for all ages. Friendly and efficient workers. The life guards are conscientious. You can rent the pool and have parties and they have dog swimming parties. It is a great community where great people get together.
