UPDATE 01/29/24: Mathis somehow got in touch with us after this review, even though they replied and said they could not locate my account. They agreed that since the foam cores no longer fit in the old cushion covers, they would replace the ones that were busting open. Flash forward to more than a month later - we get a call that the covers are in and can be picked up. When my spouse went to pick up the covers, he found that only THREE of the FOUR had been ordered. The man who was "helping" him proceeded to argue with him that there were only three bottom cushions on the couch. He pulled up a picture of the couch to show him that there are indeed four bottom cushions - two on the sofa and two on the chaise. The man told him that he "did not see how there are four". ??? We have interacted with this person before and he is incredibly unpleasant. We don't have a problem with HIM but with the actual couch and the eternally disappointing customer service that we have received. Instead of arguing and telling us we are wrong (even when there is a photo to show otherwise), he could AND should have followed up with a supervisor to see what needed to be done. Although he told us he would attempt to order the final cover, we will unfortunately have to call and follow-up with their customer service department yet again because we have zero faith that anyone is attempting to actually assist.
Only come here if you want to buy cheap furniture that the company does not stand behind. I have been fighting with Mathis since AUGUST on a warranty claim on a $2400 couch. The couch was a year old with cushions that were practically disintegrating, a frame that was falling apart, and extreme fabric fraying. We have followed all their suggestions and done what they told us to do, and still it is not enough for them. They replaced the foam part of the cushions for us that was breaking down, but when the cushion covers didn't zip over the cushions, they told us there was nothing they could do. After speaking with management, they sent a technician out to look at the couch who determined that it did in fact need new cushion covers. He told us the covers would be ordered and we would be notified when to pick them up. After over a month, we finally called and were told that Mathis would not be covering the cushion covers. No one ever even called to tell us this or give us a quote for the covers. In addition to that, the representative who we spoke to did not seem to know anything about what was going on and essentially told us its our problem now. The worst thing about the entire situation is that we also purchased an extended warranty THROUGH MATHIS, and they told us that is handled by a completely different company and they are still unable to help us. I am so incredibly disappointed in the entire experience. Mathis is one of the only major retailers in the area, but I will either travel to Dallas or purchase online in the future. At least if I order through Amazon, I have a shot at getting better customer...

Our intention was not to run credit, but the discounted amount was too big to ignore. So, we financed the table, and it was scheduled for delivery on Friday. Since we were getting a new dining table, we sold the one we had.
They came for delivery and helped us assemble the table. However, they forgot to bring the table stand connector that connects the tabletop. This is where the inconvenience started. The same day, after 3-4 hours, the manager showed up with the item and fixed everything for us, only to find out it was not done correctly. So we helped him fix it, hoping it would solve our problem. It was just the beginning. After fixing the top, we tried to assemble our extension table, but the new table mechanism was broken. The manager assured me he would fix this and take care of us, leaving the broken new table at home so we could use it.
After 3-4 days, the delivery guy came in and took our broken table to replace it with a new one. But upon installation, I noticed it had some physical damage, so I refused to install it. The delivery guys were nice and assured me they would send me a new one in a couple of days. I got a call from Mathis saying they wouldn't have anything for 3-4 weeks.
At this point, I thought, okay, this wouldn't be a problem as long as we can get the broken table installed and use it until the new one arrives. The next day, I called them and asked if they could bring the broken one until the new one was here because we needed a dining table. The customer service was the worst of the worst. Speaking nicely doesn't mean you are helping the customer. They didn't want to listen to my problem and were transferring my calls here and there. After an hour on the phone, they said they would have to refund the money or we would have to wait for the new table. I said yes, refund it so I can buy another ASAP. They only refunded me the table top price, which was around $705. I was like, what am I going to do with these chairs, table stands, and screws?
I asked them again if they could fix my issue by delivering the broken one so we could wait for the new one. They told me they would have to refinance the table again. I never thought buying from Mathis would be this difficult. The customer service reps were so unhelpful, I felt like they were just trying to get away from the problem.

Ā Ā Ā Read moreI am beyond frustrated. Here is the story. I remodeled my master bedroom and decided on new furniture to be put in. On March 23rd I purchased a Cali-King Bedroom set including bed with under storage, dresser with mirror, night stand, temperpedic mattress, cooling pillows, and mattress protector. Approximately $8000!!! I was told it would take 2 weeks to to get the bed set in because the Cali King is not stocked here in OKC. I thought that was a long time for delivery but agreed. Actually delivery was set up 1 week later March 30th. The delivery guys noticed they had not loaded up the headboard or the slats for under the mattress. They had the headboard in stock but the slats were not. Then i inspected the bed that was delivered and installed and 2 of the legs for the under storage were broke and rhe installers did not mention that at all. So i contacted my salesperson and informed her of the issues. They were going to order anothor storage compartment and the slats. I was told 2 more weeks for the slats. Not happy but waited for arrival. At this time I actually order another basic bed frame for my daughter's room and woukd wait on delivery until every thing was in. I received multiple calls trying to set up delivery on the extras but the slats for the bed were still not in.
On April 10th I was told another 2 weeks. May 3rd and still no contact, I reached back out to the salesperson saying I was getting extremely frustrated with the wait and could she check on the slats. I was then told it would be the end of May. I let her know that was not acceptable to me and I could either return all the products and refund my money or they could do something to make all these issues worth while to me. I was told she would refer me to her manager and they would reach out to discuss with me.
Now it is May 18th and still no slats and not 1 single manager has contacted me. Even after the salesperson saying she had referred this to management multiple times and giving excuses as to why they had not made contact.
8 weeks since purchase and I still do not have a completely functional bedroom and still no answers or contact from management.
This has been a horrible experience. And I really need some answers and someone at Mathis Brothers to step up and provide some sort of good customer service.
