Dining at Mathis Brothers 34 Bistro has been an evolving experience, and with staff changes come new challenges. Unfortunately, these adjustments seem to be impacting customer service in a way that should be addressed by management rather than passed on to patrons.
During my recent visit, I encountered a disappointing level of service. Upon selecting a chimichanga from the menu, I was informed that the restaurant does not serve them. While this was an understandable mistake, the real frustration came when I attempted to order a double espresso. I was directed to physically move to another section of the bistro to place my order, despite that area being accessible to the server through a back door. Seeking clarification, I spoke with the assistant manager, who assured me that I could order through my server. However, once I returned to the bar section, the server subjected me to unnecessary questioning, asking who I spoke to, whether I had placed an order, and why the assistant manager hadn't taken care of it—before ultimately telling me to retrieve it myself.
This level of service is simply unacceptable. A lack of clear communication between the staff and an unwillingness to assist the customer created an unnecessarily frustrating experience. On top of this, I waited an excessive 15 minutes for my check, with no other customers present in the bar.
I hope that Mathis Brothers 34 Bistro takes this feedback seriously and invests in better staff training and accountability. A great dining experience relies not only on good food but also on attentive and respectful service. With proper management oversight, this bistro has the potential to provide a much-improved experience for...
Read moreI came into Mathis brothers looking to furnish my new apartment, whilst looking around for a while I walked into the bar&bistro. Don’t get me wrong it seemed like a relaxing place to be in, up until it seemed like the manager was yelling at what seemed to be the young girls working there IN FRONT of customers, which in my opinion was very unprofessional! I also noticed that she let one girl off the hook the entire time while they both conversed, the other girls were working. She yelled in a way a manager should not have. They probably thought no one was paying attention but this bothered me a lot because I have younger sisters and a daughter. I would not have wanted them being yelled or being embarrassed in front people that way. I hope this situation...
Read moreI recently bought a Mathis Rewards membership when purchasing a recliner. The sales associate who helped me told me that one benefit of membership is a $20 credit toward a meal in the bistro every month. We got a chicken quesadilla, BLT with Swiss, pretzels with queso, chips & salsa, a Bellini and a Moscato. Everything was really good. The pretzels were a little tough, but we still enjoyed them dipped in the queso. The queso is one of the best recipes I’ve...
