There's just no real reason to go here over digital or Amazon anymore.
I've spent an embarrassing amount of money at Gamestop since I was a teenager. Maybe it was nostalgia or a sense of loyalty, but I still always go here for all my games and consoles. Most recently, we spent $700+ on a Nintendo Switch, games, and an extra controller. The controller stopped working less than 2 months later. If I had ordered on Amazon, I'd have a new one on the way without wasting time, effort, or gas. Unfortunately, we got everything at Gamestop...so I had to buy another brand new controller while an angry teenage version of Severus Snape who chose acid over magic explains why logic and ethics are no match for corporate policies. Read moreMe and my husband received a ticket stating that our God of War Ragnarök game (the preorder) was due to release at MIDNIGHT tonight (11/9). We head to this location and I swear to God we waited half an hour for the store to open up, with a group of people. No employee was there. Its like they closed early on a Midnight, game release day. Earlier in the day, a gentleman at the desk even said to come back at midnight to pick it up! The group of people waiting with us, including my husband and I were completely blown away by this. Then they said it had a tiny scratch on the screen so they wouldn't take it, it didn't it had a screen protector. then they said it didn't work, it did I charged it, reset to factory, updated firmware, and tested it before bringing it in.
