Half Price Books — Local services in Olathe

The people there are nice but the money they give you isn't worth it. Went today with a open mind knowing they wouldn't give me what the books are actually work. Nonetheless, I brought in 12 books, all were hard cover and in good condition. Books included -Burned, Awakened, Destined, Revealed but PC Cast Stargazer by Claudia Gray Rapture by Lauren Kate If I told you I love you Is have to krill you by Ally Condie 2 Specials by Scott Westfield Misguided Angels by Melissa De La Cruz Looking for Alaska by John Greene another book I can't remember

What's annoying is that they only gave me $5.50, like I get you have to make a profit but when you're selling most of those books for 6.99, 7.99, 8.99 it gets irritating that you would give me less than 50 cents for each of them. In all honesty I was expecting at least a dollar for each but I would consider what they did more like stealing than an exchange service but in the end my introverted self awkwardly said that's fine and took the money and now I'm extremely regretful and will never buy or...

I love this place. Books upon book upon books to choose from. It's like a library but instead you get to keep it at least until you trade it in for the next.

This location specifically is staffed with some hard working, awesome employees. They don't bother you while you browse, always polite, easily approachable, and knowledgeable of their job.

Bathroom is always clean and well lit. Paper towel quality is a little lacking but hardly able to hold it against them.

Store wise this isn't their largest location. OP location is larger with larger selection. That said this location really stocks the shelves with at least a few titles of most authors I search for.

Lastly somewhere in the north east corner of a store might be a book where I've stashed a treasure map. What's the treasure? Oh just something valuable. Which book? It has eight vowels in the title and written by a man from Massachusetts. Page 418 starts the journey....

Mandatory Mask requirement. I wish I didn't have to do this but. It is awful how fear mongering is happening. We are not in a mask mandate county. I will only return when half-price books gives the freedom of choice to the customer to wear a mask or not.

HALF PRICE BOOKS can be so much better. I love finding the odds and ends when I go in. But it is all on chance or accidental. Finding those books and magazines would be easier if everything was logged in and could be found online. I know I would buy more if that option was more precise and easly accessible.
