I was ignored and when I wanted to give them money.
It has a nice selection, nothing you can't find online. I like supporting small business, so I went in. It's really small in there but I found a deck of playing cards I would like to buy. There were two people at their counter. When I approached the counter to pay, one of the guys went to the back room. There was a girl there, at the register, trying to play with something to analyze a Magic card. I stood there, two feet right in front of her, and she never bothered to acknowledge me. We waited for a good 5 minutes and she said nothing, kept analyzing a magic card. Also, no, I should not have to excuse myself to get her attention, I was two feet in front of her. There is no humanly possible way for her to not notice us approach the counter in front of the register where she was fumbling with her device. She then walked off from the front counter saying she needed to go to the back and it seemed if she was talking to herself or the two guys that were getting the card analyzed.
I put the playing cards down on the counter and left.
Not once did anyone greet us when we came in, which is no big deal, but we were all of five feet away from their counter so there's no way they didn't notice us. I always greeted people when they came in my retail store, customers like that sort of thing. Not once were we greeted or acknowledged at the counter, that's a huge deal. Not once did this girl call for the other guy to come help take my money.
My wife promised to buy me those playing cards for me for Christmas on the way out. I told her to buy it from Amazon and don't bother...
Read moreI walked into the store a couple weeks back, greeted them and told them it was my first time in! I was excited to look around and get to know the store as I'm new to the area.
You couldn't possibly have found two more miserable people to have greeted me. In reply to my "first time in" I think I maybe heard a "cool"? If even that, it would have been the most enthusiasm I'd received for my possible business.
I looked around in dead silence as they continued to ignore me, bar the occasional "Are you ready to checkout?".
Don't get me wrong, the store looked nicely stocked, but what separates a brick and mortar store from an online shop is the customer experience. And if you want my opinion? Do yourself a favor and shop online.
I don't know if it was "Larry" that I met, but for the love of all that is good Larry, could you at least fake a smile for a new customer? Maybe even a "welcome in!" wouldn't be asking too much, would it?
My young cousin could provide a better customer service experience than these guys did, and he's 12 and non verbal.
Everyone has bad days, I get that, but as an adult and the face of a business, you should learn to leave your personal gripes at home, and at least feign interest in gaining a new customers business.
I ended up purchasing a pokemon booster bundle out of almost sheer pity. I thanked myself on the way out and told myself to...
Read moreNo pricing on cards that are on display in the cases. Poor customer service both times I went to this store. Unfriendly, unwelcoming environment if you are interested in cards that the employees themselves dont have a pertinent interest in. Staff here will gladly sit and have you look up pricing online for the items in their display case. Why would I go to a store just to stand there on my phone to buy something IN THE STORE? So a couple weeks later, I buy cards online, since they clearly don't want me buying product in the store. I pickup my order and don't like condition of one of my most expensive cards, so I say I don't want to buy that card and I am told, " There are no refunds on card purchases." Before I even took them away from the counter. Clearly, if I could see the condition of that product in person, before buying it, I wouldn't have made that purchase! I'm told, "All they can give me is store credit." So, if they don't have what I want to buy, I won't get my money back to buy what I want from ANYBODY ELSE. They took more than an hour of my life from what I get paid and forced me to only buy from them. So, to sum up my experiences here... poor service the first time, scammed the second time. Larry's Game Store won't get a third time from ME. Don't go here if you want to have a nice day, and enjoy your time out. High prices on sealed...
