We had a wedding and ordered a large quantity of mums ahead of time. Uncle Johnās knew they were for a wedding and knew when the date of the wedding was. I recognize that they can not control nature, but they do know nature, so when mums were not going to be in bloom, they being the experts we assumed they were should have told us to have a plan b- -Instead they sold the mums assuring us they would be in bloom by Sunday. -When no blooms were emerging, they reassured our calls of concerns saying you just need to put them in the sun and they will bloom -Another day of full sun and another call gave us the same story -Day of wedding we took a truck and two cars full of unbloomed mums two hours and kept cars warm to encourage blooms-no blooms but it is now Labor day Sunday and we are stuck -When no blooms developed, we had to go to another nursery and buy all new bloomed mums (other places had mums in bloom-fancy that!) -We now have twice as many mums and no way to get them the 2 hours back to town -When I called Uncle Johnās to explain situation, I was told they knew mums wouldnāt bloom (Why tell us that now???). I was also told they needed cold not sun??They did say any we could return would be refunded-BUT -When the few mums gathered were taken back, we received the third degree despite having thought we worked out a relative compromise Bottom line- -Did not guide us with honest expertise. -They continued to encourage us to keep them knowing they would not bloom in time -They said they would refund and then were less than gracious about doing so despite the return being for a minimal fraction of the overall bill!
Uncle Johns had several chances to do right by this bride before and after her wedding and they did not. Every other vendor was outstanding and their reviews will reflect that. This vendorās review is equally reflective of the quality of service rendered.

Ā Ā Ā Read moreOnly that I cannot give a -0- I called today to ask a simple question and was told they are too busy with customers in front of them to talk to me or even put me hold and work my call in (as also a customer). I called back to speak with someone else saying I had a quick question about a large order and the same woman I spoke with the first time (who claimed she was the manager) took the phone abruptly from the person who answered the call and belittled me for calling back and said she was happy to be the ātokenā who had to take my call (her exact words) and that she was āsorry I needed so much attentionā. She then hung up on me. We have a massive order for a local retailer - in the neighborhood of $4500 plus another right after this one. We also have a team of people from NE Ohio (some with me in the office when we placed the call) that now know about the experience with your store. I hope the owner sees this. We wanted to use a local business. We will find another. What a shame people behave this way. Part of doing business is relationship. We will find the product. We choose not to build a relationship with a business that operates like this. Message to Uncle...

Thought this was probably a waste of time but I couldn't figure out a plan on my own so I took a chance. I met with a lady named Kim and MAN WAS SHE GOOD!. She studied my sketch and measurements and put together a wonderful landscape plan with just a few questions to me. She took me around and showed me options and made a sketch of her own that was easy to follow. My project was easier because of her help. I tried getting ideas from other places but they were no help. When I asked one kid to look at my sketch plan he actually just told me to put some plants in there.(why didn't I think of that) I have read other reviews stating prices were higher here but I've shopped around and didn't find that to be true. Maybe some variation but not much. The plants at Uncle John's were also well maintained not stressed by sun on lack of care. Definitely returning to Uncle John's and strongly recommend to others.
