Falls Family Restaurant — Restaurant in Olmsted Falls

This was our last of several visits to this restaurant today. The last time me and my son ate here I got the sausage gravy and biscuits wirh scrambled eggs and it was almost refrigerator cold. The server / manager guy took it back and microwaved it, and I reluctantly ate it and regretted it for the rest of the day with multiple trips to the bathroom. So today we gave them another chance. We sat at the bar counter and FIVE servers walked by us, not even acknowledging our presence. A kid asked us what we wanted to drink and I had to ask him to repeat himself 3 times to understand what he was saying. Another guy came in and sat down next to us, and was immediately greeted and put his order in. After that the server said she would be right with us. She went to visit 2 other tables before she came back to take our orders. I asked for a western omelette with well done/sautéed peppers and onions. Well done meaning they get cooked in the pan for an extra 90 seconds maybe? She says “well I will ask but he probably won’t do it”. I said I wanted my home fries crispy as well (like 90% of breakfast eaters want) and she said he definitely won’t do that because they’re “too busy”. I said I’m not in a hurry I’ll wait, and she refused. This isn’t the first time I’ve had this argument here. Insanely disappointed in my experience at Falls Family Restaurant. My girlfriend had old floating food in her coffee and our server was so frazzled that I just had to take it up to the counter to get her another cup. Pretty gross, but we both understood that it was a busy day so we were at least going to give them another chance.

Then we get our food. My meal was fine. I ordered a Greek omelet and it was totally passable. It was cooked correctly and tasted as a gyro omelet should. However, my girlfriend ordered the meatloaf dinner and it wasn’t up to par. It tasted like it was out of a box or a frozen meal. Her mashed potatoes were cold and the gravy was average but unsalted. She also received a side of carrots that were ice cold and had another customer’s old lipstick on the plate. Once she noticed the dirty plate, she was over the entire experience. We told a server about the dirty plate and weren’t offered any sort of refund. We were offered a new serving of carrots, but she didn’t want cold carrots either way. At this point, we were both pretty livid and just wanted to leave, but had to wait approximately 25 minutes to get our bill after finishing our food.

We won’t be back. I cannot recommend this place, even for a cheap meal. My food was average and hers was far below that. The plates and cups were dirty and definitely not properly cleaned. Absolutely disgusting and very...

Updated review: Quaint little place in a quaint location. Love Olmsted Falls. The highlight was being able to hear my son's plane flying overhead after it took off from CLE as I was watching it from my radar app. Stopped there for breakfast after dropping him off at the airport. Now, the reason why I originally gave this a 3 was because I didn't really care for my biscuits & gravy. It was made with Italian sausage which I love so I thought it would be tasty, but it was a bit bland. The gravy tasted too much of flour, was gummy and a blah beige color that didnt look very appetizing. The biscuits were of a gummy consistency as well. The potatoes looked like an afterthought and not a full serving as my friend got a bit more with her omlette. Did I eat it? Yes, bc I was hungry but overall was disappointed. Did I complain? Nope, bc I didn't want to delay our breakfast. Will I return to give breakfast another try? YES! Because my friend says their omlettes are great and her breakfast looked much more appealing than mine...and I love breakfast out. Do I still recommend The Falls? Yes, bc the service was friendly enough and it's a nice little spot to eat & enjoy the view. Just choose something other than what I had, lol.
