Zero stars, worst hospital I have ever been to.Some of the er nurses are nice, but the majority are rude, uncompassionate, and do bare minimum of of their job requirement.I have been there multiple times over the years with my kids and husband(we live a block away),the only good experience I ever had was when the kids were little, but they had to be nice because they were little kids My most recent experience my husband was taken there by ambulance,I couldn't go with because covid policy .He went into cardiac arrest,in the hospital,10-15 minutes to resuscitate him,so they say.He went by helicopter to UW next day,was in a coma.Suffered severe brain damage due to lack of oxygen for 15 minutes. They had called me the next day from capitol medical said we have your husband's belongings, you can come get when you can.Went to get next day, they couldn't find them.Called later,oh security has them, again went there,no they did not.We will call you when we find them,a week later, nothing.Went down there yesterday, security had no idea what I was talking about, they did not have his belongings,Wich was his clothes, shoes, and his wallet, with his driver's license,ss card, whatever cash.My husband on May 28 passed away at UW,due to brain damage,he would have been severly disabled if he woke up.We removed the machines and he died 4 days later. The Drs and neurologist at UW found evidence of mini strokes that had been happening over the last few months and some sort of older brain trauma. My husband was at capital medical er at least 10 times in the last few months, having multiple issues from copd, said his arms were always going numb, was getting a lot of headaches. And pretty much every time, they'd give him a breathing treatment or some oxygen and send him on his way.Again some of the nurses are nice,2 that I remember but the rest very rude, taking there time when someone can't breath and is panicking, and then yell at them to calm down.I have witnessed it happen,I had to tell at her, can't you see he can't breath. She should have been fired. And I did file complaints. But they never checked him when he'd tell them his arms would go numb and headaches. He was having mini strokes and the trauma on his brain was affecting him mentally and physically. They never checked him for anything other then his copd, give him an inhaler send us on our way.The numbness in arms,I know now ,is a sign of strokes. They should be held responsible in some way as it might have prevented what happened on May 28 .Why did it take 10-15 minutes to get him oxygen when he was brought in on ambulance?Again I wasn't allowed in hospital at all, just sat out in the car.So my my children 18 and 21,have lost their father and I lost the man I was with for over 25 years. He was only 50,this shouldn't have happened. And now they lost his belongings, including his wallet that had pictures in it and pieces of his identity. They were supposed to call me yesterday, after I went down there again and the guard kept telling me we don't keep that stuff or it was left on ambulance. No they called the next day,the nurse did and said security has it,get it when you can. They are completely incompetent, the er is horrible and the nurses or rns who you deal with need to get some training on people skills and how to be a compasionat human being and like their job, care about patients, training.I think im going to consult with a lawyer regarding their neglicance and complete disregard of patients. We certainly paid 1000's of dollars for their lack of treatment. If anyone from the hospital reads this,I'm sure you can figure out the patient name that died in Thursday at UW(Wich they are the best I could have asked for him,im thankful to the Drs and nurses there for trying to save him and being with him so he wasn't alone. And called me every day.)Capitol medical seriously needs to take a good look at their er employees, lack of correct diagnosis, and ignoring glaring symptoms of serious health risks.Thanks...
Read moreHow does this hospital have such a low star rating? I give this place 5 stars easily. I almost died I actually should have died I am very lucky to be alive!!! The ER drs were very great and they got me to stay when I didn't want to. I was facing death and all I was worried about was the bag. I am now 264 days clean because not only my gf and mom but the drs in the ER changed my mind on July 9th 2020. I was admitted and I stayed in the hospital for 48 days and I got clean and I am still going strong. Everything I went through was a huge reality check. Dr. Ponniah is a very amazing dr he really is, I would love to come back and thank him when I got admitted he was my Dr for 19 days before I was transfered due to my medical and because I was stable. At the time I was so upset I didn't want to go anywhere else I wanted to stay there for the remainder of the 48 days total so 29 days that remained. Dr. Ponniah even went above and beyond to try to get me to stay there instead of transferring me he went to bat for me yeah we lost but he tried. What is even crazier is when I 1st got there ( I don't and still can't remember the 1st 3 days ) but when I got there we bumped heads because of stuff that I thought was nessecary but in all trueness they weren't he was rite. I have so much respect for this hospital. I also had a nurse that was my favorite out of them all. I don't play favorites but she went above and beyond her name is Breeze Shurtz she is a very amazing nurse. Yes I had alot of other nurses and drs but out of them all those 2 have stuck with me the most because they were not only good at there job but they cared for there patients. I will eventually hopefully get to come thank them personally after covid if not I will send a card once I figure out how to send it to them so they get it. This hospital deserves 5 stars I was a grouchy patient in the beggining but they still treatede with respect and looking back at it all everything they did was nessecary and not only did they save my life thank God but they also we're were the 1st step of my rock bottom and I got clean because they talked me into staying. I prefer this hospital and will go here even tho I live closer to a different hospital. They are worth the trip. Easy 5 stars from me and I never give a full 5 stars usually 4 or less. I do get alot of reviews on my google reviews ( 1,000s ) probably because I am detailed. Anyone that wrote or gave stars didn't wait to take a step back and look at the big picture plus there are alot of grouchy patients that were 100x meaner then me I was there a while I saw it myself. They still acted very professional and they didn't bring there attitude or drama with them they always came in with a smile and they were always respectful. Sometimes they would get overwhelmed with patients but they still were very professional. I am alive because of them thank God. I will leave my review with that and that's from a...
Read moreIt was as clean as a Greyhound bus station with staff almost as kind. We were not there for anything complex or traumatic. I immediately noticed that people had full blown IVs and pumps with multiple bags sitting in the lobby and knew this wasn't a good sign. Essentially the lobby is now an auxiliary treatment area and people are literally being given meds, treatment, results, etc just right there. So HIPPA and privacy be gone. And I'm dead sure everyone being treated is being billed for a bed or (room) of which we never even laid eyes on. How this isn't Medicare fraud baffles me. So on to the experience it started off as sunshine and rainbows and being treated pretty well. An X-ray was ordered. That was appropriate. But back in the lobby we were. And no one was even being called back to an actual gurney. We got the X-ray. We waited and waited. I expected to hear from someone who's passed some medical boards. I asked for a new ice pack, just an ice pack for my son and was at first told that wasn't possible - an ice pack wasn't possible. Finally I got one. Ok so results this is where it got hairy we were suddenly just given discharge paperwork and told oh ya that was negative for a break. The kid is in real pain with fully numb fingers-still. No matter we can just leave with the arm swinging. THEN the nurse starts the taking down "well sometimes they like it wrapped up for attention at school" Hang on s'cus me? He's hurt he's not here to play hooky. I asked for a doctor and some facts. Let's treat the patient and not just the results. And this here's your hat what's your hurry thing isn't going to work. One showed up. We at least got an extensive note for school to restrict a few things at school. Not a referral or anything. And our pediatrician won't even schedule for a bone thing. So we left. But I got to thinking that numb fingers hours later doesn't make any sense and the placating answer of well he banged it isn't that logical. We've all banged an arm and not had numb fingers hours later. So off I go with calls to Oly Ortho but they want a referral. Call ER back and here's the exact answer "oh ya we don't do referrals, we just see too many people in a day to be doing referrals" I said "it's something you fax and Oly Ortho gets them from you everyday" Response "we never refer we just suggest" So let's think about that they don't refer to cardiology, oncology, Ortho ever? That is completely false. So I got no help. And in fact told I should really go to Mary Bridge. I gave her the education that Mary Bridge Urgent Care is exclusively appointment now and if the days appointments are gone they're gone. So in short I'm sure our insurance will be billed handsomely, we got next to nothing for that cost and someone who nothing about referrals answers the phone in the ER. Can you all buy fewer robots and mop the floor...
