Acknowledging our AMAZING server Payton! Who was hustling & fantastic during a packed dinner service! The Lacey Red Robin had awful reviews so I chose to drive to Olympia where I have always had a good experience& I was glad I did. I was told there would be a 15 minute wait but we were in in less than 10. After ordering I asked Payton if we could switch tables and I know with it being packed I could have easily been turned down but he very quickly cleaned up the table next to us and we were moved within 3 minutes. He was friendly patient & constantly coming around checking on us and or at least glancing our way with every pass cuz I told him I’d flag him down if we needed anything. I noticed he was very attentive to all the tables around as well (I pay attention to good customer service) & he never stopped hustling, I never saw him standing still or moving slow& he always asked if people needed anything else. I haven’t had great service like that in a long time so I felt obligated to write a review to acknowledge him. This was the kind of server I’d expect in an upscale establishment , surprised to have such good service at Red Robin honestly. We used to eat here a lot but never had a server so attentive to not just us but all his tables.
The restaurant was clean, A bit noisy , but that’s typical for the place and we were also right between the kitchen and bar areas… so to be expected. Food was great , I had signed up for rewards and was redeeming my free birthday burger, no hassles there. They have tablet type things at the table that have games so that was awesome & my 2.5 yr old occupied & distracted him from having a meltdown so I appreciated that. Food came fast& I ordered several more rounds of bottomless fries that came promptly. Only real complaint (& the only reason I knocked a star off ) is they were out of most of the beers so wasn’t much of a choice there , I believe there were only 3 to pick from. l went with Stella which I drink regularly, but it didn’t taste right, then I heard them tell another table near me it was Stella LIGHT … which wasn’t noted on the board or mentioned… so it was pretty awful. & mixed drinks were 3/4 full of ice so a couple swallows and a tall glass was gone, so I wished I wouldn’t have spent the $20 on drinks for myself to get absolutely not even the mildest buzz…after a 22oz beer and 2 vodka mixed drinks that’s not right.
If I was going on service and food it would have been 5 stars but drinks are important ESPECIALLY when celebrating my...
Read moreI have mixed feelings on even giving a two-star rating for Red Robin near the Capital Mall.
The website still shows no dine-in available, but when you get to the restaurant it is available. There are signs every five feet with a QR code to scan to have a touch less menu option; however, the code takes you to a page that is not available which defeats the purpose all together.
Red Robin clearly has a hierarchy that has never been seen elsewhere. We were greeted by the hostess who, for a group before us and ourselves, advised they had to go clean a seating area for our groups. I thought a busser would have had that glorious position, but apparently not. Once seated, we were greeted by our waitress who promptly took our drink order. After about five minutes of a over staffed nonbusy restaurant another employee brought our drinks. About 10 minutes later another different employee brought out the appetizer. As you can see, the tower of onion rings is not a tower anymore, plus you only receive two of the traditional three sauces that come with the "tower". The selection of meals was disappointing to be told part of the items on the menu were not available. Finally it was time for the Cluck n chips to arrive, and you probably guessed by now, it was another employee again. My drink sat empty on the edge of table for about 10 minutes every time before flagging down the hostess to get someone to refill the drinks. This went on for over an hour while there. I feel like I saw every employee, except the manager. Why was the service so poor you ask? TVs mounted around the restaurant with sports and TV shows on and most employees watching them, chatting with one another, and playing on their phones. I hope Red Robin pays their staff well because what I observed today only person that deserved to be tipped was the hostess.
As far are Red Robin covid-19 preventative practices, well if you want to be placed in the first two available tables and have every single group paraded within 3 feet of you while eating, Red Robin has the practice you want to go see. All that restaurant space and it's being used for employee enjoyment and not guest enjoyment.
The best part of this experience was the fact that the food tasted alright, but a better togo container than any other restaurant.
I challenge the manager and owner of this restaurant to prove their can do better than...
Read moreMy family and I came in last night and we were a party of 9. Had to wait for a table but that was expected because it seemed to be pretty busy, we get to our table and everything’s great our server comes by to get us drinks and then comes back (she forgot what drinks we ordered but whatever) and then took our food order, everything seemed fine but then she just never came back to the table to check on us until 30 minutes later when our food was ready.. my fiancé sat there with an empty drink for like 40 minutes and at this point the restaurant was not busy… so that was irritating. She asked us if we needed anything else, she got His refill eventually and then never came back to check on the food or ask us if we wanted our botomless sides refilled, she just showed up with our kids birthday sundae and seemed like she was rushing us out. Fast forward to getting the checks, she separated them for us and then I noticed we all got charged full price+ drinks for the big yum deal; so I asked to her to fix it which she did (kind of annoying to have to pester the server to fix the price) and then everything seemed ok finally after 30 minutes of waiting just to pay the checks, then I noticed that we got charged for an extra meal.. so our server says okay let me check for you.. then she said she was confused and had to grab the manager, the manager did not know what she was doing and told us that we didn’t get charged for an extra meal, but I literally counted 10 total meals on the check and their was only 9 of us, so our server must of accidentally charged us for another meal when fixing the prices the first time… so we sat there for another 30 minutes while the manager claimed we didn’t get charged for an extra meal so it was like pulling teeth trying to literally show her and calculate the tab to explain the her that we indeed did get charged for an extra meal… so she finally comes back and says she took it off I’m sure she felt silly because she was wrong… anyways this was probably the worst experience we’ve ever had here and will not be coming back the service here is always terrible, and clearly management has no idea what’s going on either. Not to mention there was a HUGE disgusting mess on the floor right next to us and no one bothered to clean it the entire 2 hours we were stuck there. Do...
