I have been spoiled by Barnes and Noble’s above and beyond customer service. When I entered Books a million I found 3 employees behind the counter talking to each other. I said excuse me and asked for help locating several books as I was in a hurry. One gentlemen said sure typed in the titles, then politely informed me of their inventory, told me they are organized by the authors last name and then pointed me to the area of the store which I could find them. Once I didn’t find the first book and was unsuccessful finding the second. A lady associate walked past, I asked her for help. She said she was helping a customer- I ask can you just put me in the location where I can find the book? She said I’ll have to go look it up as I don’t know. Of course you don’t because you didn’t ask me for the titles. After walking around aimlessly frustrated, I walked out.
Amazon will continue to dominate retail because of situations like this. It’s so disappointing that customer service is nonexistent in some...
Read moreThis place is a beacon of light in my trips to town. The establishment is cozy, but not loosing it's bright, content air. The coffee corner here is a Joe's Muggs shop. The employees are never impolite, and work in a swift manner that never fells too hasty. They offer coffee, pastries, and smoothies for the summer. The prices aren't outrageous and you always get what you paid for. The book store itself is also very enjoyable. The general novels, at least currently, are located nearest the coffee shop. They are kept organized and neat, and never uninviting. Among the other genres that are worth mentioning are classics, young adult fiction, sci-fi, mystery, religion, sports, and history, but of course there is ample more. Towards the middle there are the games and kids sections. The games range from Settlers of Catan, to Cards Against Humanity, and mostly everything else you could want. The kids section has books, toys, and games, so there is a good chance of finding something to...
Read moreHORRIBLE,HORRIBLE MANAGER....My son and I went to this store because he (my son) wanted to return an item that he had purchased earlier that day. Well, when he tried to return the item with his receipt, he was told by Lynn (she said she was the night manager) that he could only get a store credit. We both read the receipt policy and reiterated this to the manager but she insisted that she could ONLY issue a store credit. After repeatedly going over the store policy (RIDICULOUS), we asked for the GM. She said would get the GM but she DID NOT return to the register. Instead, she sent an associate to the register to do the cash return for her. (PATHETIC and INCOMPETENT) I have never shopped at BAM and I NEVER WILL !!!! Because BAM insists on hiring INCOMPETENT,IGNORANT,INEXPERIENCED, and UNSKILLED individuals in positions of management, I will continue to shop with...
