In my book, this is the up and coming restaurant of the Auburn/ Opelika area. So much to say. The location is in a prime spot. The vicinity is open, spacious, clean, and up to date... But that's just the structure.. The heart of this place is the food and the soul is the service. While on a sunday evening when everywhere else is closed early or telling our party of 8 that we all have to be divided into groups separated across a restaurant, the server welcomes us in with a smile and accommodates to our parties needs. While every other restaurant offers the same old bland taste of over priced food, for a great price we are given a fresh experience of taste that the competition will have to work 3 times as hard to match... I'm just saying, the people in the kitchen came out and served us with smiles... That the owner behind the counter knows how to make some of the best rolls you could imagine, I'm simply just saying that the fried rice holds a standard that i have not seen matched in this area. Not my first time here, so I know they are constant. Won't be my last time at this establishment and I say that in excitement. About time Tiger Town produced something of taste verses the same dry plain experience. I give Takoyaki 5 BIG...
Read moreI've been to Takoyaki more than a handful of times now- both dine in and take out.
The restaurant itself is in a very convenient location in Tiger Town and we're able to sit down and grab something to eat when we need a break from shopping.
There's plenty of parking as well so that's never an issue!
When you walk in, the restaurant is very open and clean.
Service has always been better during the day time vs when I went at night. For example, tonight although it was slow while my daughter and I were dining in, we were given our food first without silverware.
After being given our food, we were not checked up on and drinks were not filled. I had to wave the waiter down for our check let alone getting a refill.
During the day, service is definitely much better even when it's busy but still a hit or miss.
Food is definitely good especially when you're dining in! My go to meal here is the Shrimp Yaki Udon and their TNT roll.
Their hibachi is also pretty good! I've had their steak and chicken hibachi to go and it was not the most tender but it was probably because I ordered it to go.
It's definitely worth...
Read moreif I could give negative stars I would. as we were being seated I asked if we could have a table instead of a booth. we were seated at the table, given a menu & I was brought a Coke. we looked thru the menu and once we decided we put the menu back on the table and waited... and waited.... and waited.... mind you we were seated directly in front of the sushi bar. our waitress was behind the bar talking to the sushi prep guy. there were only a couple tables with people and they were already eating so it wasnt that we were waiting on other table service. we looked around as we waited and waited while the staff chatted and decided we were done waiting. we got up and left. on the way out I did hear the sushi prep guy say "y'all have a nice day" to which my companion replied, "we're going somewhere we can get service" ... it's unfortunate we couldn't get our waitress to serve us, we'd picked out several things.. we were hungry! we popped across the street to the Panda Express. I wish everyone luck here. hell if you get served let me...
