I absolutely LOVE Ollie's. I visit every one I come across no matter what state I'm in. I've been to more than a dozen different ones in Florida, New Jersey and Virginia. The new Orange City location is pretty much like every other Ollie's. You never know what you are going to find, but I never leave empty-handed! If you see a bargain GRAB IT because it might not be there next time. So stock up. Check expiration dates on food carefully, because they usually get closeouts in, in bulk, on stuff that is nearing its expiration date. Once it hits expiration date, they mark it an additional 50 percent or 75 percent down. I've gotten good deals on coloring books for adults (for seniors in a nearby nursing home) toiletries, snacks, cereals, candy, cookies, hair care items and household items. Clothing deals are sometimes OK, but usually on "irregulars." Watch out for appliances and other items that are "reconditioned." They can be good deals, but we've had to return a few that just flat out didn't work, or were missing parts. Overall though, I love Olllie's. The stores aren't that well organized, but stuff moves in and out of there, is like a warehouse store, and the prices make it well worth it. It's not like you're going to Publix or Macy's, expecting some kind of ambiance, but if you have realistic expectations, you won't be disappointed. I never am! OLLIE'S --GOOD...
Read moreThis time around and overall score of three but I'm giving leeway because it was Friday and everybody was trying to cram last minute Christmas shopping in on the cheap. But still you would think that management would have enough on staff to handle that type of predicted onslaught. When I was there every single employee that was on was running the cash registers it looked to be about four or five employees. I know this because I heard the manager tell one of the cashiers who was requesting backup that that was all they had. Obviously that can be concerning in case of an emergency or even customers needing assistance regarding product or spills or whatever. It boils down to a safety issue. I will say that the staff, considering the amount of people and what they had to deal with were very professional and very courteous throughout my experience. The young lady that helped my transaction was very positive and cheerful. I really like this store when it comes to finding something that I need on the cheap. I look forward to seeing the store next year when it is restocked completely cleaned up and ready to...
Read moreI was trying to get to a flower pot at this orange city location and no employee was near so I stepped up on to a pallet to get the flower pot not realizing the employee had came up the aisle and she stood there 10 feet away and yelled mam you need to get off that pallet!!’ it scared me and made me have a panic attack and start to shake. Then she kept repeating it get off that pallet. I said well if you would lower your voice it wouldn’t make me so nervous and shake so I don’t fall. But she just kept repeating it. Finally my son helped me down. Granted this pallet was all of 2 or 3 inches of the floor. I have been in this store many many times and spent well over a 100 dollars every time. This time I spent 287.38 and it is unprofessional for any employee to be like that to a customer in the store very disrespectful and embarrassing when if she had spoken nice and even offered to help in the first place I would not have had a panic attack. I am so very disappointed and unsatisfied with this action by this young employee. She may need to be educated on speaking...
