This book/toy/novelty store is a place I want to give a 5 star review so badly but just doesn’t deserve it. It’s got some really great new and used product on the shelves. They have a music section with vinyl and a full wall of guitars for both youth and adult. The problem with this location is the absolute lack of customer service and terrible management. I’m honestly surprised it’s still hanging on, must be the great location. If this place had management that knew how to teach the employees to help and give even a half darn, this place would be awesome. If you don’t need to interact with any employees, like at all, it’s not bad. Come walk through, but be be prepared for the horrible staff. Happy Holidays. Please be better 2nd and Charles staff. The red headed dude who is like an assistant manager or something similar is the absolute worst. I hope he find a different job that brings him much more joy and happiness. Don’t waste life being upset and treating random public...
Read moreLousy prices. Everybody would love the chance to get a steal on a special or unique secondhand item and give it new life. But there were many instances of used items with goodwill stickers on them with prices comparable to new copies of that book. I brought in some books to trade, and was told It would take ~30-45 minutes to appraise them all, and that I was first in line, with no other trades queued before me.
I waited for over two hours. Only to be offered ~20% Market value for the stack of books I brought to trade. I understand a business has to turn a profit. But their margins are way higher than any other business doing things similarly.
Also. As today was the grand opening, any review left before today/ (9/9/23) Is likely fraudulent or a conflict of interest. As the store wasn't accepting customers before today to my knowledge.
Don't bring your trades here. Don't shop here. Betting odds this place is a Spirit Halloween by this...
Read moreI honestly am really disappointed with my experience here. I practically donated my items unwanted cash back or hopeing they would by from me. Horrible decision on my part I gave them 69$ worth of stuff and I either got a 5$ store credit or 3$ back in cash. Why not just get rid of it without payment at all. The thing that sucked was another customer got 15$ for their stuff and it seemed they had less in their bucket. I would NOT "donate" here again. Wish I could get my stuff back because if they sell for a 25% if not more of a profit then I should get a higher cut of the payment. Stupid idea to give 60% worth of chapterbood that I could easily have sold online for more. So fair warning if you choose to...
